Alvirne cruises past Milford in Chick-fil-A basketball tournament

NASHUA – The Alvirne High School boys basketball team led by 10 points at halftime and doubled that early in the third quarter to roll past Milford, 64-45, in a consolation game Saturday at the Chick-fil-A Holiday Tournament.

NASHUA – The Alvirne High School boys basketball team led by 10 points at halftime and doubled that early in the third quarter to roll past Milford, 64-45, in a consolation game Saturday at the Chick-fil-A Holiday Tournament.

Tyler Brown scored 15 points for the Broncos and Richie Eaton chipped in with 12, as 11 different players scored points for Alvirne.

The Broncos were up 34-24 at halftime and opened the second half on a 15-5 run, including a 9-0 stretch that put Alvirne up 49-29 with 3:19 left in the third.

Ross Briggs led Milford with 13 points, while Harrison Urda was also in double figures with 11. After making seven 3s in Friday’s loss to Nashua South, the Spartans had just three against the Broncos and shot 10 of 21 from the free throw line.
