Alvirne defeats Campbell on Day 2 of Chick-fil-A Tournament
NASHUA – Jimmy Tomaswick scored 12 points to lead the Alvirne High School boys basketball team to a 53-38 win over Campbell in second-day action of the Chick-fil-A Holiday Tournament at Nashua North on Wednesday.

NASHUA – Jimmy Tomaswick scored 12 points to lead the Alvirne High School boys basketball team to a 53-38 win over Campbell in second-day action of the Chick-fil-A Holiday Tournament at Nashua North on Wednesday.
Tomaswick scored nine of his 12 in the first half while Tyler Livingston added nine points and Tony Beaulieu chipped in with seven markers, all in the first half for Alvirne. The Broncos led 30-18 at halftime, but the Cougars had a chance to make the game closer in the first 16 minutes.
With 4:13 left until halftime and the Broncos up by five, Alvirne’s Britton Doyle was called for a foul and a technical foul, giving Campbell four free throws and the ball. But Josh Morgan missed the technical free throws and Jacob Morgan made one of his two and the Cougars couldn’t score on the possession.
Josh Morgan had a game-high 16 points, 11 of which came in the second half, as the Cougars were able to cut the lead down to eight in the third quarter. But Alvirne answered with a 12-0 run to go up by 20 points early in the fourth quarter.
The Broncos will now face Hollis/Brookline, which defeated Nashua North 52-47 in the second game Wednesday, at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Campbell will take on North at 3 p.m.
