Max Bonney-Liles, of the Alvirne High School boys basketball team, has been named the 2018 Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year for New Hampshire.

The senior has an average of 21.3 points per game in helping lead the Broncos to a 12-6 record and the seventh seed entering the start Thursday of the Division I tournament. A Division I all-state second team member a year ago, Bonney-Liles scored his 1,000th career point last week in a win over Winnacunent.

“Bonney-Liles is a really good player, a consistent 10-plus point a game guy who can jump out of the gym,” Exeter coach Jeff Holmes said. “He’s carried their team. He’d get my vote for player of year. And also, I know he’s a quality kid.”

Bonney-Liles is the third Alvirne player to receive the award, joining Mike Konovelchick (2001) and Pat Manor (1988).
