Around the Granite State: Monday’s Roundup

The Bedford High School boys lacrosse team outscored Concord in the third quarter and held on in the fourth for a 7-6 win Monday over the Crimson Tide.

The Bulldogs (4-0) held a 4-1 advantage in the third after the teams were tied 3-3 at halftime. Concord scored twice in the fourth to make it a one-goal game.

Kyle Fink led Bedford with two goals and an assist and Devin LaFrance had a goal and two assists. Jack Cusack, Brandon Howe (assist), Ryan Toscano (assist) and Lucas Codair also scored for the Bulldogs.

Kyle Lagerquist won 13 of 17 faceoffs for the Bulldogs and Sean Tierney made 16 saves.

Bishop Guertin 15, Souhegan 4

The Cardinals scored the first eight goals of the game and cruised to a win over the Sabers in Division I action.

Brian Cameron led the way with four goals and seven assists while Sam Prunier had three goals and an assist. Brennan McInnis had two goals and a helper while Jordan Caito and Ben Abladian had two goals apiece.

Drew Hailey added a goal and an assist and Kyle Fisher also scored for the Cardinals (4-0) while Cam Fagan had an assist. Colin Casey made seven saves in goal, while James Heitmiller and Kameron Bouvier combined for five.

Souhegan (3-1) got two goals from Foster Burnley and Alex Burnley made 17 saves.

Nashua South 19, Merrimack 5

The Panthers (1-5) picked up their first win of the season behind a big game from Sean Holland and Shane Puleo.

Holland finished with six goals and three assists and Puleo had five goals and three helpers, while Zac Clancy chipped in with two goals and three assists and Devin Linscott had three goals and an assist.

Brett Shaughnessy, Jaiden Dupont and Jordan Bodwell also had a goal apiece for South while Taevon Olson and Derek Downing each had an assist. Nate Radin made six saves and Suman Morrissette had two.

Softball

Bedford 4, Spaulding 2

Caitlin Fletcher drove in the go-ahead runs in the top of the sixth and Katie Martin picked up her fifth win of the season as the Bulldogs remained undefeated.

Fletcher’s two-run single put Bedford (5-0) ahead after Maddy Lucontoni had tied the game with an RBI single.

The Bulldogs had taken a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Jacquelyn Harrington led off with a double and scored on a hit from Erica Barley. Spaulding took a 2-1 lead in the fourth before Bedford rallied.

Baseball

Bedford 3, Spaulding 1

Cooper Anibal drove in two runs with a two-out double in the bottom of the first and the Bulldogs added an insurance run late in a win over the Red Raiders.

Joseph Quintal pitched a complete game, striking out nine while allowing five hits and a run.
