Around the Granite State: Monday’s Roundup
Merrill Neiman scored 53 seconds into overtime to give the Londonderry High School boys lacrosse team an 8-7 win over Bedford on Monday.
The goal came after the Bulldogs had a chance to win, but a shot by Ryan Toscano hit the post and the Lancers scooped up the groundball.
Nathan Andrews and Sean Snyder led Londonderry (6-2) with three goals apiece while Neiman had a goal and an assist and Anthony Federico also scored. Peter Navarro had two assists, including one on the game-winner, while Alexander Fawcett made six saves.
Bedford (6-4) got two goals each from Devin LaFrance, Gannon Lowrie and Brandon Howe. Eric Flynn also scored and Sean Tierney made eight saves.
Souhegan 6, Concord 5
The Sabers, who trailed by a goal at halftime, broke a 4-4 tie in the fourth quarter and held off the Crimson Tide for the win.
Tyler Hall had two goals for Souhegan (6-2) while Nick Jordan had a goal and an assist and Foster Burnley scored what proved to be the game-winner. Concord got a goal with 58 seconds left to cut the lead to one.
Ethan Hopey and Curtis Redd also scored for the Sabers and Palmer Belowski and Sam Ezequelle each had five groundballs. Alex Burnley made nine saves in goal.
Windham 11, John Stark 8
The Generals fell behind by six goals in the second quarter and their comeback came up short against the Jaguars.
Parker McQuarrie led the way for John Stark (3-4) with three goals and an assist while Peyton Marden added two goals and Drew McQuarrie had three assists.
Aiden Moser, Kayden Easter and Matt Bennetter added a goal apiece for the Generals.
ConVal 18, Milford 2
The Spartans fell to 3-3 in Division III with a loss to the Cougars. Collin Cederberg had two goals for Milford and Josh Shaw played well on defense.
Boys Volleyball
Hollis Brookline 3, Windham 2
The Cavaliers picked up their fourth win in a row by coming back to beat the Jaguars. Game scores were 19-25, 22-25, 27-25, 25-13 and 15-8.
Nick Wood led HB (6-2) with 31 kills and four aces and Scott Van Coughnett had 51 assists. Jonathan Brackett and Vivek Nithipalan each added 12 digs and Mike Moscatelli had two blocks.
Baseball
Bedford 5, Concord 2
Joseph Quintal picked up his third win of the season, going six innings and allowing two runs while striking out seven, to lead the Bulldogs. Nick Gelinas earned his second save of the season, as Concord scored twice in the top of the seventh.
Connor Collins had two hits, including a triple, for Bedford (9-0) while Liam Greene also had two hits.
Softball
Bedford 3, Concord 2
Audrey Pederson had a two-run triple in the sixth inning that gave the Bulldogs the lead and then scored what proved to be the winning run on a passed ball as Bedford topped the Crimson Tide.
Erin Murphy also tripled and scored and Maddie Fraitzl also scored a run. Katie Martin picked up her eighth win of the season, striking out seven.
