Hollis Brookline sweeps past Nashua North
The Hollis Brookline High School girls volleyball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a sweep of Nashua North. Game scores were 25-7, 25-4 an 25-18.
Maddie Norris led the Cavaliers with 12 kills and eight aces and Kyra Belden added 10 aces and 28 assists. Elizabeth Atkinson also had 10 kills and two blocks while Kenzie Powers had four aces and Sammie Sheppard chipped in with nine digs.
The Cavs return home on Friday to host Spaulding (3-1) while North (0-3) travels to Manchester Central (0-4) on Wednesday.
Bishop Guertin 3, Merrimack 0
The Cardinals also moved to 3-0 on the year with a sweep of the Tomahawks. Scores were 25-14, 28-26 and 26-24.
Rita Dow had 12 kills and eight digs to lead Bishop Guertin while Elise Roy had 14 digs, five aces and five kills and Maddy Keating added 10 digs, five aces and five kills.
The Cardinals also got eight kills and three blocks from Liza Field and Alicia Glasheen added 28 assists.
Bishop Guertin returns to action Wednesday, when it hosts Nashua South (3-0), while Merrimack (1-3) heads to Concord, also on Wednesday.
Field Hockey
Gilford 5, White Mountains 2
Kellie Ryan scored two goals in the second half and the Eagles knocked off the Spartans in Division III action.
Jenna DeLucca made nine saves in goal for Gilford (4-1) and Laurel Gingrich had a goal and an assist. Bri Salanitro and Sydney Lehr also had a goal apiece.
Bishop Guertin 2, Keene 1
Katie Lupo had a goal and an assist to help lead the Cardinals past the Blackbirds in a Division I game.
McKenna Gosselin also scored, finding the back of the goal off an assist from Lupo with nine minutes to play in the first half. Lupo made it 2-0, scoring off a Sarah Coyle assist, with 12 minutes left in the game, but Keene’s Maggie Cahoon made it 2-1 just four minutes later.
Makena Leazer finished with eight saves for the Cardinals (5-0) while Livy Auger stopped six shots for Keene.
