Around the Granite State: Monday/Tuesday Roundup

Will Crosby set a school record and the Hollis Brookline High School boys lacrosse cruised to a 17-7 win over Merrimack Valley on Tuesday.

Crosby scored nine goals for the Cavaliers (9-3), a first for the boys program, as they won their sixth in a row. Derek Davidson and Ryan Olson had three goals and three assists each.

Garrett Moloney made 10 saves for HB, which takes on Windham (8-5) at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in Hollis.

Nashua South 10, Hanover 8

The Panthers picked up a much-needed win on Monday by knocking off the Marauders at home.

Sean Holland led the way with five goals for South (5-7), while Zac Clancy had two goals and an assist. Joe Bodi and Devin Linscott each had a goal and an assist while Brett Shaughnessy had a goal.

Shane Puleo added two assists and Nate Radin made 16 saves.

Souhegan 16, Nashua North 8

Tyler Hall scored five goals to lead the Sabers to a win over the Titans on Monday.

Thomas Hornor added a goal and four assists for Souhegan (8-3) while Foster Burnley had two goals, two assist and nine groundballs. Luke Civiello had two goals and an assist and Trace Hennas also scored twice.

Ethan Hopey, Nick Garcia, Curtis Redd and Kyle Archambault had a goal apiece while Alex Burnley (five saves) and John Lohnes (two) combined for the win in goal.

Timberlane 13, Goffstown 10

The Owls improved to 7-2 on the season with Monday’s win over the Grizzlies.

Matt Licata led the way for Timberlane, scoring four goals and adding two assists, while Michael Bowman had three goals and Cameron Murphy added two goals and an assist. Nathan Taylor finished with 18 saves.

Goffstown (2-8) got five goals and an assist from Nick Mason while Peyton Bickford had two goals and two assists and was 21 of 25 on faceoffs. Eric Dubois added a goal and two assists while Ben O’Brien and Max Lajeunesse also scored.

Boys Volleyball

Hollis Brookline 3, Souhegan 0

The Cavaliers won their seventh in a row on Monday with a sweep of the Sabers, and junior Scott Van Coughnett set the school record for career assists with 1,014. Game scores were 25-11, 25-11 and 25-15.

Nick Wood recorded 12 aces for HB (9-2) while Nathan Cole had five kills and Colton Mailloux had four kills. Sterling Bates added three kills and Hayden Kabushta chipped in with two. Vivek Nithipalan had three digs.

Softball

Bedford 13, Merrimack 1

The Bulldogs cruised past the Tomahawks on Monday behind a four-hitter from pitcher Katie Martin.

Emily Murphy and Jacque Harrington both homered, as Harrington was 4 for 4 with five RBIs and Murphy drove in three runs. Hannah Thompson added three RBIs, including a two-run double.
