Around the Granite State: Offense lifts Goffstown softball to win
GOFFSTOWN – The Goffstown High School softball team got plenty of offense and a strong performance from pitcher Kaylee Chouinard to beat Trinity 18-6 in the season opener on Thursday.
Chouinard, making her first varsity start, went five innings and struck out five, and after allowing four runs in the first inning, settled in to give up two the rest of the way.
Taylor Gagnon led the offense with a three-run home run and a double in the first inning, as Goffstown batted around twice. Makayla Fleming (home run), Alyssa Lombardi (triple) and Megan Purcell (double) also had extra base hits for the Grizzlies.
