Around the Granite State: Bedford boys lacrosse gets win against North Andover
Here are results from Friday’s high school lacrosse action.
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Brody Helton had five goals and two assists to help lead the Bedford High School boys lacrosse team to a 19-10 win Friday night against North Andover.
Bennett Matthews added four goals and five assists while Derek Kulesza and Sam Barad had three goals and two assists apiece. Luke Purnell, Kevin Mastrodicasa, JJ Gaffney and Kevin Sheridan also had a goal each for the Bulldogs (11-1, No. 2 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll).
The Scarlet Knights (4-9) got four goals and two assists from Colin Willoe while Drew Fitzgerald and Matthew Donovan had two goals apiece.
Winnacunnet 12, Hollis Brookline 6
Beckett Rath had six goals and an assist to lead the Warriors to a win over the Cavaliers.
Lukas Botnick added a goal and three assists while Tim Kollmorgen scored twice and Brian McCown had a goal and an assist. Spencer Ziegler and Alec Mitchell also scored a goal each.
HB (9-5) got three goals and an assist from Ben Dufoe and Bennett Torgersen scored twice. JP Torgersen also scored for the Cavs.
No. 7 Pinkerton 18, Dover 6
The Astros outscored the Green Wave 11-2 in the second half on the way to the win.
Matt Gormady had a big day for Pinkerton (8-5), scoring six goals and adding three assists, while Cole Summers had five goals and three assists. Cody Santomassimo added two goals and two assists.
Adam Scala scored twice and had a helper while Ricky Wong, Ben Quintiliani and Kyle Ushevich each scored a goal. Dylan Stingel and Tyler Barry each had an assist.
Owen Perkins had nine saves and Cody Dumont added two while Stingel, Alex Tsetseranos and Aiden Jones combined to win 22 of 27 faceoffs.
No. 9 Windham 15, Keene-Monadnock 4
Matt Desmarias scored five goals and had four assists to lead the Jaguars to the win.
Ryan Parke had four goals and an assist for Windham (10-2) while Josh Trudel had two goals and two assists and Nate Crowley had a goal and an assist.
Rob DiPietro was 16 of 23 on faceoffs for the Jaguars.
Trinity 5, Milford 4
Tyler Descoteaux scored three goals for the Spartans but they came up short against the Pioneers.
Dylan MacLeod also scored and Ryan Arseneau had an assist. Brennan Cassidy made eight saves and Jason Daykin played well defensively.
Bow 17, Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough 5
Brodie O’Neil had five goals, including the 100th of his high school career, to lead the Falcons past the Lakers.
Gavin and Ryan McCabe each added a goal and three assists while Nate Davis had two goals and two assists. Brad Ekstrom finished with eight saves.
Oyster River-Newmarket 16, Merrimack Valley 3
Jake Failla and Alex Moody led the offense as the Bobcats rolled past the Pride.
Moody had five goals and Failla scored one goal and dished out seven assists. Tyler Callander added three goals of his own and Dee Tsakiris had a goal and an assist.
Aidan Golding and Cabot Holden-Mount each had his first career goal while Evan Plourde, Joe Hinchcliffe, Jadyn Smart and Talon Beyer also had a goal apiece. Cam Wheeler won 15 of 23 faceoffs and Cole Norris and Connor Evans combined on the win in goal.
No. 1 Bishop Guertin 16, Concord 4
Sean McGarry, Brady Dumont and Caleb Yeung each had three goals as the Cardinals won their seventh in a row.
Drew Redfern added two goals and Jackson Warren had goal and two assists while Cam Hayden, Beau Dubois and Tyler McLeod had a goal and an assist apiece.
Carter Jozokos also scored and Owen King, JP Dunsmoor, Micah Dunsmoor and Liam Connerty each had an assist. Paulo Vazquez and Austin Harvey combined to go 19 of 24 on faceoffs.
Michael MacDonough (two saves), Will Murphy (four) and Jonah Feliciano (two) combined for the win in goal.
Carter Doherty and Tyler Morin had a goal and an assist each and Brayden Beauregard and Ben Ryder had a goal apiece for Concord. Liam Yeatman added an assist while Logan Shimer and Harry Snow each had seven saves.
No. 6 Timberlane 16, Kingswood 6
Seven players scored for the Owls as they knocked off the Knights on senior night.
Jack Condon led the way with five goals and three assists and Mike Savage added four scores. Austin Charest chipped in with three goals and an assist while Rocco Psareas and Landon Petry had a goal and three assists each.
Cole Gerry and Gary Shivell each had a goal and Liam Corman had an assist. Mark St. Jean was 16 of 20 on faceoffs while Bryce Carty (five saves), Joe Hughes (three) and Ryan Bazidane (five) combined for the win in goal.
Girls Lacrosse
No. 1 Portsmouth 16, No. 10 Nashua South 3
Keira Walsh had 10 saves, but it wasn’t enough for the Panthers against the Clippers.
Morgan Uzdanovich and Nevaeh Eppolitto had a goal and an assist each and Ella Benzekri also scored for South.
