Around the Granite State: Bedford girls basketball hands Concord Christian 1st loss
Here are results from Friday night’s high school basketball action.
Annie Zink and Juliet Laws each had 11 points to help lead the Bedford High School girls basketball team to a 47-44 road win Friday night over Concord Christian.
Laws hit three 3-pointers and Zink added two 3s while Sarah Muir and Eva Zink each added 10 points for the Bulldogs (13-1). Mel McCarthy added five points in the win.
Sophia Capsalis had three 3-pointers and 15 points to lead the Kingsmen (14-1), while Emma Smith was also in double figures with 11 points. Brynn Valiant added nine points, including two 3s.
Exeter 61, Manchester Memorial 44
Jessica Melick and Lexy Rogers each had 19 points to lead the Blue Hawks past the Crusaders.
Melick also grabbed 13 rebounds and Rogers had six steals while Ava Cammarata finished with eight points for Exeter (11-4). Nicole Melick and Emme Kayes had six points and three assists apiece.
Salem 67, Nashua North 54
Morgann Raskow scored 25 points to lead the Blue Devils to a win over the Titans.
Makayla Burns added nine points and nine rebounds for Salem (9-6) while Ali Marshall had 10 points. Liv Defrancesco and Caroline Case also scored nine points apiece.
Souhegan 66, Kennett 26
The Sabers led 30-6 after one quarter as they cruised past the Eagles.
Nayaa Dineshkumar led the way with 18 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks for Souhegan (9-5) while Lanai Hickman scored 12 points and Julia Skelton had 10 points and six steals.
Marlie Liebenow led Kennett with nine points and Sophia Fox added eight points.
Coe-Brown 50, Oyster River 32
Wren Horne had 17 points to lead the Bobcats, but it wasn’t enough against the Bears.
Jazzy Alvarez added eight points for Oyster River (8-6).
Boys Basketball
Portsmouth 67, Windham 51
The Jaguars fell for the third time in their last four games, dropping a road game to the Clippers on Friday.
Braedon Curran led Windham (8-6) with 15 points while Tyler Jordan and Brandon Jacobs each had 14 points.
