Around the Granite State: Bedford girls basketball knocks off Bishop Guertin
Here are results from Friday night’s high school basketball action.
Sarah Muir scored 15 points to help lead the Bedford High School girls basketball team to a 54-37 win Friday night over Bishop Guertin.
Juliet Laws was also in double figures with 10 points for the Bulldogs (2-0) while Claire White had nine points. Eva Zink added seven points and Grace Wolf scored six in the win.
The Cardinals (0-3) got 15 points from Hailey McGowan, including three 3-pointers. Olivia Baker added 12 points and Thalia Drapeau scored eight points.
Coe-Brown 55, Timberlane 53
The Bears rallied from 13 points down in the fourth quarter to beat the Owls.
Tara Houle had 17 points, including three 3-pointers, and Emma Lapierre added 15 points for Coe-Brown.
Rylee Donahue led the way with 31 points for Timberlane, which led 32-31 at halftime.
Souhegan 59, Lebanon 27
The Sabers jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter and never looked back against the Raiders.
Brynn Siska led Souhegan with 12 points and five rebounds and Nayaa Dinishkumer had 10 points and eight rebounds. Julia Skelton and Lanai Hickman each had 10 points for the Sabers.
Oyster River 58, Kennett 21
Ashling Ferris had 15 points for the Bobcats in a big win over the Eagles.
Wren Horne added 14 points and Payton Drapeau was also in double figures with 10 points. Jazzy Alvarez chipped in with nine points.
Salem 58, Goffstown 46
Morgan Raskow scored 12 points to help the Blue Devils get past the Grizzlies.
Ali Marshall added 11 points while Sha O’Loughlin and Makayla Burns had 10 points apiece for Salem.
Boys Basketball
Portsmouth 65, Exeter 52
Derek Swartz scored 17 of his game-high 20 points in the first half to lead the Clippers past the Blue Hawks.
Damien Sanu came off the bench to add 13 points for Portsmouth (3-0), while Huxley Brown led Exeter (2-1) with 16 points.
Kingswood 79, Milford 69
The Knights picked up the win at home over the Spartans thanks to 19 points from Thomas Benker and 14 points from Brad Moulton.
St. Thomas 58, Inter-Lakes 55
Jack Brennan and Grant Baker each had 25 points to help lead the Saints to the road win.
Belmont 69, Campbell 24
The Red Raiders picked up a big road win over the Cougars behind 19 points from Brody Ennis
Carroll added 15 points and Evan Martinez had 12 to lead Belmont to the win.
Bedford 57, Bishop Guertin 51
The Bulldogs got a big all-around game from Ryan O’Rourke, as he had 11 points, 17 rebounds and four blocks.
Luke O’Connell added 15 points to help Bedford get the win.
Connor McGowan scored 17 points to lead the Cardinals.
