Around the Granite State: Bedford girls basketball picks up win over Pinkerton

The Bedford High School girls basketball team held Pinkerton Academy to a dozen points in the first half Monday, on the way to a 57-26 win.

Annie Zink scored 17 points to lead the Bulldogs (3-0 in Division I), including five 3-pointers, while Juliet Laws scored 12 of her 14 points after halftime. Eva Zink was also in double figures with 11 points while Grace Wolf and Sarah Muir added six points apiece.

The Astros (3-3) got 11 points from Brooke Benz while Taya Brown recorded seven markers.

Timberlane 61, Manchester Memorial 54

Rylee Donahue had 24 points to help the Owls pick up the win over the Crusaders.

Donahue finished with four 3-pointers, as did Sam Mooney, who chipped in 20 points for Timberlane. Lyla Fitzgerald and Anita Scibelli had four points apiece in the win.

Jenavyzia Collazo led the way for the Crusaders with 17 points while Violet McCaffrey recorded 12 points. Jaelyn Hartford was also in double figures with 11 points.

Souhegan 33, Hanover 32

The Sabers held off the Bears to pick up a key road victory.

Nayaa Dineshkumar had nine points and 12 rebounds for Souhegan and Julia Skelton also finished with nine points. Mariellah Dart recorded five points in the win.

Harper Lewis led Hanover with eight points, including a 3-pointer at the buzzer that made it a one-point game.

Salem 49, Merrimack 30

Shae O’Laughlin turned in a solid all-around performance to help lead the Blue Devils past the Tomahawks.

O’Laughlin had 18 points, five steals and seven rebounds to lead Salem (5-0) while Morgann Raskow had 13 points, four steals and three assists. Makayla Burns added six points and eight rebounds in the win.

Portsmouth 51, Dover 29

Lana Vidacic and Jenna Lucy each had 13 points to lead the Clippers to a win over the Green Wave.

Addie Lane added nine points for Portsmouth while Leiana Cory and Reese McCauley each had seven markers.

Boys Basketball

Exeter 69, Windham 42

The Blue Hawks improved to 4-1 on the season with a strong defensive performance against the Jaguars.

Exeter allowed just 10 points in the first half while 13 players had points, led by Nate Tomasi, who finished with 12.

Windham (4-2) got 11 points from Tyler Jordan.

Keene 49, Goffstown 46

Alex Holmes scored 20 points to help the Blackbirds hold off the Grizzlies and Kasen Abbott added 15 points in the win for Keene.

Liam O’Brian had 14 points and Braeden Malley scored 13 points to lead Goffstown.

Swimming

Five teams compete at KSC

Keene, Monadnock and Fall Mountain hosted Mascenic and Conant on Tuedsay at Keene State College.

On the boys side, Keene’s Andrew O’Donnell finished first in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, while Conrad Smith won the 100 backstroke and 200 IM and Dominic Smith took the 100 breaststroke.

For the girls, Fall Mountain’s Avery Richardson came in first in the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke while Monadnock’s Emma Short won the 100 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. Sawyer Condap, from Monadnock, came in second in  the 100 freestyle.

Keene’s Olivia Cutler came in second in the 50 freestyle.

Memorial, Central swim against Goffstown

The boys and girls teams from Memorial and Central competed in a meet hosted by Goffstown on Tuesday.

For the girls, Memorial’s Emma Wallace won the 200 freestyle and came in second in the 100 freestyle and Maecyn White took first in the 100 butterfly and third in the 200 IM.

Madylyn Harrington was fourth in both the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke while Abigail Proulx, Harrington, White and Wallace took second in the 200 freestyle relay.

For the boys, Memorial’s Eli Marziano came in first in the 200 IM and was second in the 100 breaststroke. Central’s Brandon Tobin came in third in the 100 freestyle and in the 100 backstroke while Faris Kruscica was fourth in the 100 breaststroke.
