Around the Granite State: Bedford girls basketball rolls past Keene (video)
Here are results from this week’s high school sports action.
BEDFORD – The Bedford High School girls basketball team picked up its eighth win in a row Wednesday night, beating Keene 62-18 to improve to 12-1 on the season in Division I.
Mel McCarthy led the way for the Bulldogs with 15 points and Annie Zink was also in double figures with 10 points. Mel Gibson and Sarah Muir each added eight points and Clare White finished with seven markers.
The Blackbirds (8-6) got six points from Harper Zalaski while Isabel Brown, Emily Antosiewicz and Payton Margaitis scored three points apiece.
Nashua South 55, Manchester Memorial 29
Maggie Gallagher scored 13 points as the Panthers improved to 12-3 on the year with a win over the Crusaders.
Brooke Berger and Anya Challinger each added 10 points while Addie Borden also had eight points for South.
Bow 42, Oyster River 28
The Bobcats played well in the first half but the Falcons were able to pull away in the second.
Wren Horne led Oyster River (8-6) with 12 points while Jazzy Alvarez and Payton Drapeau each had six points.
Timberlane 48, Sanborn 33
Sam Mooney scored 25 points to help the Owls snap a two-game skid with a win over the Indians.
Julia Johnson added 12 points and Lila Fitzgerald recorded 11 points for Timberlane (10-5), which led 22-11 at halftime.
Sanborn got 10 points from Kaylee Fortin.
Trinity 51, Salem 45 (Tuesday)
The Blue Devils got off to a slow start before falling to the Pioneers.
Morgann Raskow led Salem with 15 points while Nicole Ringdahl added 12 points and Makayla Burns scored nine points.
Exeter 54, Merrimack 19 (Tuesday)
Jessica Melick and Nicole Melick each had 17 points to lead the Blue Hawks past the Tomahawks, while also grabbing nine boards and five steals, respectively.
Lexy Rogers scored 13 points and had seven assists while Emme Kayes chipped in with five points and four assists.
Pelham 65, Timberlane 59 (Monday)
The Pythons got their fifth win in a row, getting a home win over the Owls.
Grace Riley had 17 points and Sophia Guinazzo scored 13 points to lead Pelham.
Rylee Donahue had 29 points for Timberlane, while Sam Mooney scored 18 points.
Boys Basketball
St. Thomas 77, Somersworth 34
Jack Brennan scored 18 points to help the Saints to a win over the Hilltoppers.
Grant Baker added 14 points for St. Thomas while Brady Livas chipped in with 11 points.
Belmont 88, Berlin 28 (Monday)
The Red Raiders got points from 13 players to cruise past the Mountaineers.
Evan Martinez led the way for Belmont with 18 points while Brody Ennis scored 14 points and Gino Montalto added nine markers.
Boys Ice Hockey
Concord 5, Salem 2
Nolan Walsh scored twice to help lead the Crimson Tide to a win over the Blue Devils.
Griffin Blaine, Michael Barry and Austin Proulx also had a goal apiece for Concord while Carter Heise got the win in goal.
