Around the Granite State: Benzekri hits milestone in Nashua South girls lacrosse win
Here are results from Thursday’s high school lacrosse action.
Carly Benzekri reached a career milestone and the Nashua High School South girls lacrosse team got a 7-1 win Thursday against Dover.
Benzekri, a sophomore, scored five goals and had an assist, including the 100th goal of her high school career. Briley Landsteiner and Gemma Williams also had a goal apiece for the Panthers (9-4, No. 10 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) while Lexi McGuire had an assist.
Emma Herlihy made five saves while Karina Santana, Maddie Langer and Nitzann Alkalay played well defensively.
St. Thomas 21, Kearsarge 4
Talula Gregg scored seven goals, including the 200th point of her career at St. Thomas, to help the Saints get a win over the Cougars.
Julia Bryan added six goals, reaching 100 points for her high school career, while Riley Thomas, Kate Kreycik and Lizzy Holden had two goals apiece for St. Thomas (10-2). Charlotte De Tolla and Annita Parmelee each added a goal.
Reese Foss recorded three saves while Vanessa Williams and Jules Stowell played well defensively.
Kearsarge (2-6) got two goals each from Katie Walkinshaw and Kaelan Finnegan while Stella Syvertsen finished with 17 saves.
Boys Lacrosse
No. 7 Winnacunnet 19, Pembroke 4
Beckett Rath scored six goals and had an assist to lead the Warriors past the Spartans.
Burke Spalding added three goals while Spencer Zigler (one assist), Anthony Magri and Alec Mitchell had two goals apiece for Winnacunnet (10-1).
Sully Duffy, Brock Emery, Junior Paschal, Carter Sullivan and Colby Swasey recorded a goal each and Hale Dodier had an assist.
St. Thomas 11, Souhegan 5
The Saints went on the road to beat the Sabers and get their seventh win in a row.
Colby Tasleer had three goals to lead St. Thomas (8-3) while Luke Daly and Cam Aceto each scored twice. Grady Estes added a goal and two assists and Jake Moore finished with four saves.
Owen Mobley led Souhegan (2-8) with two goals and Reid Kimball had a goal and an assist. Judd Harris and Rob Goodhue scored a goal apiece and Sean Reardon had 15 saves.
