Around the Granite State: Bishop Guertin boys lacrosse beats Acton-Boxborough in OT (video)
Here are results from Tuesday’s high school lacrosse action.
NASHUA – Sean McGarry scored a mandown goal with 53.9 seconds remaining in overtime Tuesday to give the Bishop Guertin High School boys lacrosse team an 8-7 win over Acton-Boxborough.
The Cardinals (14-2, No. 1 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll) also got three goals from Cam Hayden and two from Caleb Yeung. Beau Dubois and Hudson Schmitt also scored while Will Murphy had 15 saves, including one in overtime that led to McGarry’s goal.
Christian Maranian and Trey Clayton each had two goals for the Revolution (16-3), with Clayton capping the AB comeback on the tying goal with 35.6 seconds left in regulation.
Bishop Guertin had a 7-4 lead with under six minutes to play, but couldn’t hold it. Paulo Vazquez won the faceoff to open overtime, but the Cardinals turned the ball over and then went a man down on AB’s ensuing possession.
Murphy was able to make the save on a shot by Tristan Clayton and then found Micah Dunsmoor, who got the ball over midfield. Dunsmoor sent the ball across to Tyler Mcleod, who quickly got it to McGarry for the game-winner.
No. 10 Windham 8, No. 8 St. Thomas 6
The Jaguars got a big road win over the Saints, getting 15 saves from goalie Casey Kramer.
Matt Desmarais had a goal and four assists for Windham (13-3) while Nate Crowley had two goals and an assist and Ryan Parke scored twice.
No. 5 Derryfield 21, ConVal 5
RJ Proulx had 10 goals and an assist to lead the Cougars to the win over the Cougars.
Chili Cabot added four goals and two assists while Ryan Maxwell had three goals and three assists and Dom Cercone had two goals and four helpers. John Kramer also dished out three assists.
Cooper Ketcham had a goal and an assist and Brady Doldo also scored. Logan Dyer and Max Fowler each had an assist. Dylan Clyne and Jackson Hatfield combined to go 15 of 25 on faceoffs while Parker Lebiedz (four saves), Jaxon DeYoung (one) and Liam England (one) combined on the win.
Seth Fowler and Max Erickson (one assist) each had two goals for ConVal while Henry Taylor also scored and Eric McGrath had an assist. Stephen Simard finished with 15 saves.
Oyster River-Newmarket 3, Hillsboro-Deering/John Stark 1
The Bobcats picked up the win in a game that was called early due to lightning.
Tyler Callander had a pair of goals and Jake Failla had a goal and an assist in the win. Alex Moody added an assist while Cole Levesque was 5 of 6 with three groundballs on faceoffs.
Cole Norris finished with two saves on three shots.
