Around the Granite State: Bishop Guertin girls lacrosse picks up win over Newburyport
Here are results from Saturday’s high school lacrosse action.
The Bishop Guertin High School girls lacrosse team got a 13-11 win over Newburyport on Saturday and a pair of milestones for two players.
Maddy Eder-Linell made nine saves, including her 300th career save in the win, and Abby Lynn scored three goals and had three assists to go with six draw controls, including her 100th career draw control.
Sarah Brunelle had five goals for the Cardinals (10-5, No. 4 in the MerchSquared.com/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) and Lola Dumont had three goals, five draw controls, two caused turnovers and two groundballs.
Jordan Gaebel also had two goals and three draw controls while Madi Mendell, Marielle Tomasello and Avry McKiernan had an assist apiece.
Boys Lacrosse
No. 3 Pinkerton 17, Framingham (Mass.) 5
Kyle Ushkevich scored six goals and had an assist to lead the Astros to a road win over the Flyers.
Matt Gormady had three goals and an assist and Jeff Gormady scored twice and had three assists for Pinkerton (12-3). Ben Quintiliani added two goals and Levi Weaver, Ronan Connors, Tyler Barry and Nik Phelps each had one goal.
Gavin Burwell made eight saves and Landon O’Donnell also played well in goal. Caleb Hobden, James Caruso and Brendan Carney played well defensively and Dylan Stingel, Aiden Jones and Tyler Pinardi were strong on faceoffs.
