Around the Granite State: Bow field hockey hands Hollis Brookline first loss
Here are results from Friday’s high school field hockey action.
BOW – Ella Gray had the game’s only goal late in the first quarter Friday as the Bow High School field hockey team defeated Hollis Brookline 1-0.
Josie Johnson got an assist after putting a shot off the pads of HB goalie Maddie Barich. Gray scored off the rebound with 1:38 remaining in the opening quarter while Kayla Croscut made 10 saves for the Falcons (7-1).
Barich finished with seven saves for the Cavaliers (6-1, No. 7 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll).
No. 2 Keene 3, No. 6 Pinkerton 2
McKenna Nelson scored two goals, including the game-winner, to help the Blackbirds come back to beat the Astros.
Nelson also had an assist on a goal by Olive Thatcher and Lilly Rowell finished with four saves. Lola Ballaro, Natalia Gillis, Emily Antosiewicz and Avery Allaire also played well for Keene (7-0).
Gwen Lee had both goals for Pinkerton (4-3) and Jaelyn Crossman had an assist. Molly Kuncik recorded 18 saves in goal.
Hanover 4, Derryfield 0
The Bears got goals from four players in a win over the Cougars.
Grace Healey, Joia Collins and Eva Bell had a goal apiece for Hanover (4-4) while Sophia Mancini had a goal on a penalty stroke.
