Around the Granite State: Campbell, Bow punch tickets to D3 boys lacrosse final
The Cougars and Falcons will now meet in the D3 championship game on Saturday.
Andrew Willnus led eight players in scoring for the Campbell High School boys lacrosse team Wednesday, as the No. 2 Cougars beat No. 3 Hopkinton 12-4 in the Division III semifinals at Bank of NH Stadium in Laconia.
Willnus had three goals and three assist and Cruz Sandquist added three goals as Campbell advanced to the D3 final for the second year in a row.
Hunter Grant added a goal and three assists and Wyatt Tarr had a goal and two assists while Brandon Portillo scored twice. Zach Hannah and Scott Hershberger added a goal and an assist each and Evan Molina also scored.
Will O’Brien had 10 saves for the Cougars (16-3) and Lucas Craig was 14 of 21 on faceoffs.

The Falcons advanced to a championship game for the first time since 2010, thanks to an upset of the top-seeded Pythons.
Brad Ekstrom had 15 saves for Bow (12-4) to lead the defense and Billy Smethurst had three goals on offense. Ryan McCabe added a goal and three assists while Nate Davis and Gavin McCabe had two scored and an assist each,
Keenan Hubbard also scored and Sam Bennett had two assists.
Bow and Campbell will meet in the championship game at 5 p.m. Saturday at Bank of NH Stadium in Laconia.
