Around the Granite State: Campbell boys basketball grabs win at Hopkinton

Cayden DeLeon dropped in 26 points Friday night and the Campbell High School boys basketball picked up a 60-51 road win over Hopkinton.

DeLeon added five steals and six assists for the Cougars (3-0) while Jack Breton had 12 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. Luke Delia also had 12 points and recorded five steals.

Girls Basketball

Oyster River 57, Kennett 16

The Bobcats rolled to a win over the Eagles in their first home game of the year.

Olivia Andersen and Viv O’Quinn had 13 points a piece to lead Oyster River (2-1 in D2) while Ashling Ferris was also in double figures with 10 points.

Wren Horne and Jazzy Alvarez each added five points in the win.

Bedford 64, Bishop Guertin 32

Kate Allard and Sarah Muir were each in double figures to lead the Bulldogs to a win over the Cardinals.

Allard (two 3s) had 16 points and Muir (three) added 14 markers while Ella Allard chipped in with eight points and Annie Zink had seven.

Kayden Rioux had 18 points on six 3-pointers to lead Bishop Guertin while Thalia Drapeau and Laura Marino each had six points.

Trinity 64, Winnacunnet 35

Ari Bennett had 15 points, including three 3-pointers, but it wasn’t enough for the Warriors at home against the Pioneers.

Kaila Roy added seven points and Katelyn Starr had five markers for Winnacunnet.

Summer Cullen hit five 3s and had 16 points to lead Trinity while Lillian Manning was also in double figures with 10.

Lebanon 54, Souhegan 29

The shorthanded Sabers fell behind 16-2 in the first quarter and fell to the Raiders.

Zofia Rosenfield led the way for Souhegan with 14 points and seven rebounds while Lanai Hickman added five points and Kayden Merriam had four.

Summer Crowell had 12 points to lead Lebanon and Drew Kanter had nine points.

Gymnastics

Keene opens its season

The Blackbirds get the year started Friday in a competition that was supposed to feature three other teams, but ended up being just Keene and Goffstown. The Grizzlies finished with a team score of 132.95 while the Blackbirds came in at 121.35.

Erin French led Keene with a second-place finish in the all-around (32.5) which including third place on the bars (8.0) and the floor (8.7). Olivia Adams turned in a strong performance in her varsity competition, coming in fifth in the all-around (30.6).

Goffstown’s Keira Schaefer finished first in the all-around with a score of 35.4, while Bow’s Bri Gravel was third (32.3). Schaefer won the vault (9.2) and the bars (9.3) while Gravel was first on the beam (8.6) and Goffstown’s Cassie Seward took first on the floor (8.9).
