Around the Granite State: Coe-Brown boys lacrosse wins rematch with Plymouth (video)

NORTHWOOD – Glenn Papineau scored two goals and had an assist to help the Coe-Brown Northwood Academy boys lacrosse team to an 8-5 win Friday over Plymouth.

Joseph Fenton and Colby Strum also had two goals apiece for the Bears (3-0), who lost to the Bobcats in last year’s Division III championship game. Robert Lee added a goal and an assist and Myles Brackett also scored while Garrett Ward had two assists.

Jackson Alie finished with three saves and Strum added seven groundballs.

Eli Ibarguen had two goals to lead Plymouth (2-1) while Cullen McNair made 16 saves.

No. 5 Portsmouth 12, Hanover 7

The Clippers broke open a close game in the third quarter and held off the Bears in the fourth for the win.

Gus Baker (two assists), Sam Biddle (one), Gus Alati and Miles Parker scored two goals apiece and Trevor Sifferlen had a goal and an assist. Nash Conklin, Chase Eberhardt and Max Deneen each added a goal

Cooper Feragamo finished with five saves.

Laconia 10, Lebanon 9

Brecken O’Reilly scored his only goal of the game in the final two minutes to give the Sachems a win over the Raiders.

Paul Ganchi and Rock Londer (one assist) had four goals apiece for Laconia (3-0) while Brady Keegan had a goal and five assists.

Lebanon (1-1) got five goals and two assists from Abe Pearson while Benji Madory scored twice. Bentley Lang added a goal and an assist and Evan Thibideau also had a goal.

The game was tied 4-4 at halftime, but the Raiders went in front and took a two-goal lead into the fourth. Londer scored twice to tie the game at 9 and in the final moments, O’Reilly scooped up a groundball and scored.

Bow 10, Bishop Brady 7

Kian O’Leary came off the bench to score five goals for the Falcons, as they beat the Giants.

Benny Reardon also had a goal and an assist for Bow (2-0) to go with 15 groundballs and seven caused turnovers. Miles Miller was  17 of 19 on faceoffs.

As a team, the Falcons forded 30 turnovers, 16 of them with its ride.

Ray Weatherbee finished with 31 saves for Bishop Brady (1-2).

No. 6 Derryfield 15, Goffstown 7 

Dom Cercone scored five goals and added three assists for the Cougars in a win over the Grizzlies.

Emerson Stover added three goals while Ryan Maxwell had two goals and three assists and Jackson Hetfield scored twice and was 7 of 8 on faceoffs for Derryfield (2-0). Heath Mueller had a goal and two assists while Garrett Lande and Vittorio Masoni each had a goal.

Liam England recorded eight saves and Awaab Mousa was 12 of 16 on faceoffs.

Goffstown (1-1) got three goals from Kai Tupper while Carter Smedick had two goals and an assist. Jason Matatell added a goal and Nick Cote made six saves.

Dover 17, Nashua North 6

Cooper Ketcham had four goals and seven assists as the Green Wave went on the road to get a win over the Titans.

Logan Carter also had four goals to go with an assist and Geffin Adorian added three goals and two assists for Dover (3-0). Sylas Brown scored twice and had an assist and Porter Gray also had two goals while Parker Ketcham had a goal and an assist.

Danny Toland added a goal and Finn Joyce had an assist while Owen Wood won 16 faceoffs and Danny Bretz made 14 saves.

Nico Bottari scored two goals to lead North (0-2) while Ricky McKenzie and Gaving Dungan had a goal apiece. Josh Parsons finished with 15 saves.

Hollis Brookline 14, Pembroke 9

Mike O’Hearn had five goals and an assist to help the Cavaliers beat the Spartans for their first win.

Bennett Torgersen added four goals and Sam Petrella had three goals and two assists while Bryce Cote added a goal and an assist and Luke Kinney also scored for HB (1-1).

Levi Mitchell finished with nine saves while Dillon Kinney had four caused turnovers and six groundballs.

Milford 13, Alvirne 0

Dylan McLeod had five goals to help the Spartans knock off the Broncos.

Bentley Bowers added three goals and Lukas Mangum scored twice for Milford (1-2). Chris Bozza, Tyler Noble and Josh Clark each had a goal.

Rocco Barling made five saves while Jason Daykin, Asa Niskala, Jack McAllister and Lincoln St. Jean played well defensively.

No. 2 Pinkerton 17, No. 9 Merrimack 2

Matt Gormady scored four goals and had two assists to help the Astros to a win over the Tomahawks.

Levi Weaver and Tyler Barry each had three goals and an assist and Tyler Pinardi scored a goal and had four assists, while teaming up with Dylan Stingel to control faceoffs for Pinkerton (2-0).

Owen Perkins and Gavin Burwell split time in goal while Brendan Carney, Nate Smith, Deagan Weaver and Zack Kelly played well defensively.

Pelham 13, Kearsarge 8

The Pythons went on the road to pick up their first win of the season over the Cougars.

Chris Swinarski and Aidan Cote each had four goals and two assistst to lead Pelham (1-2). Noah Johnson added three goals and Tyler McDonald scored his first varsity goal.

Jake Chafe recorded 15 saves in the win and Sean Guarino won 11 faceoffs.

No. 7 Winnacunnet 18, Spaulding 4

Alec Mitchell had four goals and two assists as 10 players scored for the Warriors in their win over the Red Raiders.

No. 3 Bedford 13, No. 8 Londonderry 6

Trey Campbell had three goals and an assist for the Lancers but they came up short against the Bulldogs.

Brody Campbell scored twice for Londonderry (0-3) and Owen Huard had a goal and two assists. Austin Callahan had an assist to go with seven groundballs and two caused turnovers while Griffin Cunningham and Zach Needham also had assists.

Broch St. Gelais finished with 12 saves while Wynn Shovlin, Braeden Ayers and Dylan Mac-Davis played well defensively.

Gilford 5, John Stark 4

The Golden Eagles picked up a win over the Generals in their third road game of the week.

Jack Fountain and Lucas Raleigh had two goals apiece for Gilford (2-1) while Liam Sullivan won 7 of 11 faceoffs and Tim Macaione made 11 saves.

Girls Lacrosse

Milford 11, Bishop Brady 4

The Spartans got goals from seven players as they picked up a win over the Giants.

Payton Gaj had three goals to lead Milford (1-1) while Olivia Lochhead and Emma Freeman had two goals apiece. Maya Remella, Kaelyn Grzyb, Noelle Cotreau and Reese Comtois each added a goal in the win while Violet Renda made 12 saves.

Megan Varley, Vuye Nare and KeeLeigh Bott had goals for Bishop Brady (0-2).

No. 2 Souhegan 18, Salem 1

Libby Kennedy had four goals and an assist for the Sabers as they picked up a win over the Blue Devils.

Izzy Stevenson added two goals and five assists to go with four groundballs while Lanai Hickman had three goals, one assist and five groundballs. Averie Curran also had three goals and an assist and Emmie Curran had two goals and two assists.

Meredith Heimarck scored a goal and had two assists while Haley Christianson had a goal and an assist and Abbey Gray and Madeline Houle each had a goal. Gabby Cook and Emelia Koch also played well for Souhegan.

Katie Wood had the lone goal for Salem while Olivia Schoenrock made five saves.

Plymouth 14, Kearsarge 7

Alexa Joyce had seven goals to help lead the Bobcats to a win over the Cougars.

Joyce also had an assist while Serena McKenney and Grace Galvin had two goals apiece for Plymouth.

Addy Rossi, Katie Walkinshaw and Kaelan Finnegan each had two goals for Kearsarge while Stella Syvertsen.

St. Thomas 21, Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough 3

Sixteen players scored for the Saints as they cruised to a win over the Lakers.

Talula Gregg, Kate Kreycik, Julia Bryan, Charlotte Kelly and Mackenzie Baker had two goals apiece while Addy Allen, Payton Baker, Annita Parmelee, Lucy Broom, Izzy Taylor, Lizzy Holden, Sophia Kelly, Maia Scanlon, Lena Shaheen, Jules Stowell and Rose Willerer each scored a goal.

Reese Foss finished four saves for St. Thomas (2-0) and Cara Forest played well defensively.

ILMA (1-2) got a goal apiece from Aubrey Bresse, Bella Kimball and Kate Taylor, with Kimball also doing well on the draw. Audrey Gumpert made six saves.

No. 5 Exeter 17, Concord 0

The Blue Hawks jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in a win over the Crimson Tide.

Riley Benevides had five goals and an assist and Claire Wilhelm had four goals and two assists for Exeter. Phoebe Christenson (one assist) and Racquel Battle added three goals paiece while Avery Carrigan had three assists.

Addy Gwinn and Evie Lafreniere each scored a goal and Maggie Lilly made one save.

Timberlane 16, Kennett 9

Rylee Donahue scored seven goals and had an assist to lead the Owls to a win over the Eagles.

Julia Johnson (five draw controls) and Ava Paul each added three goals and Aubrey Fitzgerald had four assists for Timberlane (3-0). Lila Fitzgerald scored twice and had an assist while Alexa Ring had a goal and an assist along with two groundballs.

Kayla Apitz finished with five saves and Elle Sarcione played well on defense while Donahue also had nine draw controls.

No. 10 Merrimack 17, Alvirne 1

A dozen players scored a goal for the Tomahawks in their win over the Broncos.

Ava Woods led the way with three scores for Merrimack (3-0) while Riley Taylor had two goals, two assists, seven draw controls and five groundballs and Jackie Hayes added a goal, five assists, four draw controls and six groundballs.

Izzy Callahan and Emily Duque each scored twice while Lyla Carls (four groundballs) and Syd Capen had a goal and an assist apiece. Liv Dine, Liv Mitchell, Viv Torres, Jocelyn Theriault and Maddy Hardy each added a goal in the win.

Sophia Richards finished with three saves for Merrimack.

Trinity 19, Pelham 18 (OT)

The Pythons dropped their season opener in overtime to the Pioneers.

Ella DeSimone scored nine goals to lead Pelham while Jessie Phillips had three goals and an assist. Kenzie Comtois, Bri Wood and Izzy Santolucito scored two goals apiece and Jillian Bistany and Cassidy Harrington each added an assist.

Emma Bowlan finished with 10 saves.
