Around the Granite State: Coe-Brown gets top seed in D3 with win against Bow (video)

NORTHWOOD – Myles Brackett and Robert Lee each had two goals and two assists to help lead the Coe-Brown Northwood Acadmey boys lacrosse team to an 11-5 win Friday over Bow.

Sam Frye and Joseph Fenton each added two goals for the Bears (14-0, No. 10 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll), who clinched the No. 1 seed in Division III with the win. The Falcons (12-2) will be the No. 2 seed.

Glenn Papineau, Charlie Frye and Abel Szatko also scored a goal apiece and Colby Strum had an assist.

Sam Bennett and Wyatt Premo had two goals apiece for Bow and Niko Mallios also scored. Brad Ekstrom finished with 11 saves.

Both teams will host a quarterfinal game on June 6.

Timberlane 14, Hollis Brookline 12

The Owls started to pull away in the third quarter and managed to hold off a comeback in the fourth, as the Cavaliers needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Aiden Davern led the way with five goals for Timberlane (10-6) while Rocco Psareas had three goals and Landon Petry had a goal and an assist. Gio Recesso and Braydn Gillespie had a goal apiece and Ryan Bazidane finished with 13 saves.

Mike O’Hearn and Sam Petrella each had five goals and an assist to lead HB (5-12) while Bennett Torgersen scored a goal and had two assists. Levi Mitchell recorded 13 saves.

Souhegan 12, Alvirne 2

The win for the Sabers, combined with the Hollis Brookline loss, means Souhegan has clinched the final playoff spot in D2.

Judd Harris had three goals and Nate Hill had two goals and an assist to lead the Sabers (5-11). Colin Yeaton and Rob Goodhue scored two goals apiece and Sean Reardon made nine saves.

Edgar Smith and Josh Dryer had a goal apiece for Alvirne.

No. 6 Portsmouth 18, Kingswood 6

The Clippers broke open a game that was tied 5-5 at halftime with a big second half.

Gus Baker (one assist) and Henry Purcell each had four goals for Portsmouth (15-3) while Trevor Sifferlen and Cortland Barr had two goals and an assist apiece. Nash Conklin had a goal and two assists and Mikes Parker had a goal and an assist.

Bruno Pinciaro, Josh Cole and Gus Alati also had a goal apiece and Max Deneen had an assist. Cooper Feragamo had five saves and Sam Biddle was 14 of 21 on faceoffs.

Bishop Brady 14, Stevens 2

Joey Richardson scored seven goals and had three assists to lead the Giants to w in over the Broncos.

Thadius Schmolke added two goals and Ryan Haught had a goal and two assists for Bishop Brady (10-6). Austin Morang, David Schultz and Jonah Vander Hoovve had a goal apiece.

Nashua South 17, Nashua North 12

Nick Wilkinson scored six goals but it wasn’t enough as the Titans ended the regular season.

Nico Bottari and Dylan Noble added two goals apiece while Josh Parsons made 12 saves.

Girls Lacrosse

No. 10 Nashua South 14, Nashua North 8

Carly Benzekri and Emma Herlihy each hit a career milestone as the Panthers got the win over the Titans.

Benzekri recorded her 200th career draw control and Herlihy made her 100th career save for South (11-6). Briley Landsteiner had five goals for the Panthers while Gemma Williams had three goals and Lexi McGuire had two goals and two assists.

Wylie Hart had a goal and an assist while Carly Benzekri, Isabel Picanco and Nitzann Alkalay had a goal apiece.

Herlihy finished with four saves and CJ Oro made three while Maggie Schmidt and Maddie Langer played well defensively.

Derryfield 13, Gilford 10

The Cougars broke open a tie game in the third quarter and held on in the fourth to beat the Golden Eagles.

Finley Llewellyn led the way for Derryfield (11-4) with four goals and four assists to go with three groundballs. Maddy Paolino added four goals and two assists wand Reagan Ayers had three goals and two assists.

Charlotte Belanger had a goal and an assist while Kelsi Bremberg and Titi Latinwo played well on offense.

Chlor Larson, Lila Hanning and Charlotte Belanger did well on the draw, while Noelanni Hunter made eight saves and Kaity Dell’Orfano, Taylor Bradley, Anny Naje and Charlize Garcia played well defensively.

Lebanon 11, Kearsarge 4

The Cougars ended the regular season with a loss to the Raiders.

Katie Walkinshaw had three goals and five draw controls to lead Kearsarge (5-9) while Lebanon (9-5) got five goals and two assists from Abby Auch.

Hanover 10, Goffstown 9

The Grizzlies dropped their regular-season finale to the Bears.

Paige Winters led Goffstown (9-5) with three goals and two assists and Sydney Lavoie had two goals and an assist, including her 100th career point. Mia Brisette also scored twice while Trinity Lunn had a goal and an assist and Stella Enman also scored.

Ella Coletti had four groundballs, including the 200th of her career, and three caused turnovers while Jenna Shannon had four groundballs and two caused turnovers. Yeimi Martinez recorded seven saves.
