Around the Granite State: Derryfield boys lacrosse beats Timberlane in battle of unbeatens (video)

MANCHESTER – Emerson Stover and Dom Cercone each had three goals and the Derryfield School boys lacrosse team got a 10-4 win Friday over Timberlane.

RJ Proulx had two goals and two assists and Ryan Maxwell recorded three assists for the Cougars (5-0, No. 5 in the MerchSquared.com/NHHSSports Coaches Poll). Brady Doldo added a goal and an assist and Jackson Hatfield also scored and was 10 for 10 on faceoffs.

Dylan Clyne was 7 of 9 on faceoffs and Liam England made 11 saves.

Rocco Psareas scored all four goals for the Owls (4-1) and Joseph Hughes finished with 22 saves. Gio Recesso had an assist.

Timberlane scored with 7:29 to go in the third quarter to make it a 4-3 game and won the ensuing faceoff. Derryfield was able to get possession back and Cercone scored less than two minutes later to start the Cougars on a 6-0 run.

No. 10 Winnacunnet 8, Goffstown 6

Joel Williams had a big game in goal, making nine saves, to help the Warriors hold off the Grizzlies.

Becket Rath had three goals for Winnacunnet (5-1) and Brian McCown had two goals and two assists. Liam McNally had a goal and an assist while Burke Spalding and Alec Mitchell scored a goal apiece.

Hale Dodier and Brayden Emery each chipped in an assist while Emery and Dylan Palm played well defensively.

No. 7 Merrimack 9, Dover 6

Sean Anderson had three goals and two assists to lead the Tomahawks to a road win over the Green Wave.

Henry Tobin added a goal and three assists and Gabe Gorman had a goal and two assists for Merrimack (4-2). Hudson Rousseau, Peyton Connelly and Cayden Dine scored a goal apiece while Reid Guidish scored his first varsity goal.

Nathaniel Bergen recorded an assist and Mason Tremblay made 16 saves.

Dover (2-4) got two goals and two assists from Parker Ketcham while Cooper Ketcham added two goals and an assist. Logan Carter and Ben Tower had a goal and an assist while Tobey Desroches had an assist.

Danny Bretz finished with 14 saves and Ryan Hebert and Owen Wood also played well.

Bow 7, Lebanon 2

Sam Bennett and Rowan Schlosser each had two goals to lead the Falcons past the Raiders.

Parker Kazanowski scored a goal and had two assists and Kian O’Leary added a goal and an assist for Bow (4-0). Cam Czarnosz recorded two assists while Brad Ekstrom had 11 saves and Jake Antuna was 9 of 11 on faceoffs.

Londonderry 16, Salem 2

Colby Walden had five goals and three assists, including the 100th point of his high school career, as the Lancers rolled to a win over the Blue Devils.

Owen Huard had three goals and two assists and Trey Campbell also scored three times for Londonderry (2-1). Odin Delorey chipped in with two goals and Blake Thompson added a goal and an assist while Cam Ayotte recorded two assists.

Aidan Stowell and Brody Campbell each scored a goal while Drew Allen was solid on faceoffs and Broch St. Gelais finished with nine saves. Andrew Cote, Dillon Tufts, Aidan Marshall and Connor Woodward played well defensively.

Hollis Brookline 16, Souhegan 4

Bennett Torgersen and Noah Taylor each had three goals as the Cavaliers moved to 5-0 with a win over the Sabers.

Sam Petrella, Vittorio Masoni, JP Torgersen and Patrick Masoni each had two goals while Mike O’Hearn and Colin Magnuszewski chipped in a goal apiece.

Levi Mitchell finished with seven saves and Patrick Masoni, Dillon Kinney and Aiden O’Hearn (two groundballs) played well defensively.

Souhegan got two goals from Matt Mullin and one from Ayden McGrath.

Keene-Monadnock 11, Nashua North 10 (OT)

The Titans fell to the Blackbirds, getting four goals from Dylan Noble.

Caleb Smith added two goals and Josh Parsons made 20 saves while Jack Krulikowski recorded five groundballs.

No. 1 Bishop Guertin 17, Windham 3

Anthony Shi made 16 saves in the Jaguars’ loss to the Cardinals.

Josh Trudel, Sam Kramer and Evan Ardizzone each had a goal for Windham.

Girls Lacrosse

No. 6 Exeter 18, Goffstown 6

Riley Benevides and Hailey O’Kane each had four goals to lead the Blue Hawks past the Grizzlies.

Phoebe Christenson (one assist) and Karli Scherpf added three goals apiece for Exeter (5-1). Claire Wilhelm had two goals and an assist and Racquel Battle had a goal and an assist.

Ellie Dean also scored and Molly Byrne made nine saves for the Blue Hawks.

Goffstown got two goals apiece from Mia Brisette and Trinity Lunn, while Brisette also had nine draw controls. Ella Coletti added a goal and an assist to go with six groundballs.

Morghan Dodge also had a goal and Dominique Webb finished with eight saves.

No. 8 Merrimack 16, Merrimack Valley 6

Ava Martin scored six goals and added an assist to lead the Tomahawks past the Pride.

Martin also had four draw controls while Jackie Hayes chipped in three goals, five assists, three draw controls and six groundballs while Payton Trepaney had four goals, four assists, three draw controls and four groundballs.

Riley Taylor also scored twice to go with an assist, five draw controls and 10 groundballs while Lexi Bell had a goal, an assist and two groundballs. Lyla Carls had an assist and Brooklynn Hilyard had nine groundballs. while Sophia Richard had three saves.

Coe-Brown 14, Pembroke 1

Carolyn Clawson scored five goals to help lift the Bears to a road win over the Spartans.

Avery Keefe had three goals, an assist, four draw controls and five groundballs while Ellie Escabi had a goal and two assists and Audrey Tuttle scored two goals.

Addison Roy, Kenzie Silva and Morgan Readel added a goal apiece while Alexis Muse played well in goal. Ady Moynihan had eight groundballs, including the 100th of her career, and Abby Readel played well defensively.

Pembroke got its lone goal from Laila Al-Shawafi, with Bailey Gatchell recording an assist. Giulianna Davis made 11 saves.

No. 4 Pinkerton 19, Manchester Central-West 3

Delanie Summers scored four goals and had an assist as the Astros grabbed the win over Central-West.

Bella Petrallia had three goals while Hannah Lisauskas had two goals and two assists and Anna Perkins scored a goal and had three assists.

Cali Lockwood recorded two goals and an assist, Ellie Henry had two goals, and Mia Eckerman and Parker Knowlton added a goal apiece. Paige Fenner made five saves and Madison Kavecki had one stop.

Oyster River-Newmarket 21, Alvirne 2

Cadence Bice and Adrianna Reilly had a goal apiece for the Broncos in a loss to the Bobcats.

Fiona Duggan made 29 saves for Alvirne while Gianna Allison had five saves.

No. 3 Souhegan 20, Nashua North 1

Libby Kennedy had six goals, one assist and five draw controls to help lift the Sabers past the Titans.

Izzy Stevenson scored four goals and had two assists to go with five draw controls and two groundballs, while Lanai Hickman had three goals, one assist and six groundballs. Abby Giannetti scored twice and dished out three assists.

Emmie Curran chipped in with two goals and four draw controls while Sophie Jacobs, Meredith Heimarck (one assist) and Averie Curran had a goal apiece. Emma Crisman made two saves.

Derryfield 16, Pelham 7

Ella DeSimone had six goals but it wasn’t enough for the Pythons against the Cougars.

Katherine Caroll also had a goal and Jessica Phillips had an assist. Addison Breault made 12 saves.

No. 7 Nashua South 13, Concord 5

Maren Lowell had four goals and three assists and Addie Borden also scored goals as the Panthers picked up their second win over the Crimson Tide in as many games.

Saige Devins had three goals and three assists while Karina O’Donnell and Carly Benzekri scored a goal apiece. Wylie Hart also had an assist.

Lilee Petricca made two saves and Emma Herlihy had a stop while Nevaeh Eppolito, Karina Santana, Lexi McGuire, Nitzann Alkalay and Maddie Langer played well defensively.

St. Thomas 20, Kearsarge 3

Lizzy Holden scored four goals, including the 100th of her career, and the Saints rolled to a win over the Cougars.

Talula Gregg also had four goals while Charlotte De Tolla, Julia Bryan and Kensley Harris added three goals apiece. Reece Anderson, Vanessa Williams and Izzy Taylor each scored a goal.

Chloe Baker made four saves while Ava Lyder and Lena Shaheen played well defensively.

Boys Tennis

Exeter 7, Dover 2

Owen Russell won the No. 2 singles match (9-7) as the Blue Hawks picked up a win over the Green Wave.

Russell and Oliver Berardino combined for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles, while Coco Pazourek (No. 3, 8-1), Pavel Pazourek (No. 4, 8-4), Michael Burke (No. 5, 8-4) and Nick Rosa (No. 6, 8-3) also got singles wins.

Pavel Pazourek and Rosa got a win at the No. 3 doubles match, winning 8-1.
