Around the Granite State: Derryfield girls basketball cruises past Milford
Here are results from Tuesday’s high school basketball action.
MANCHESTER – Ella Laflamme and Holly Dufoe combined for more than half of the points for the Derryfield School girls basketball team, as they rolled to a 68-27 win over Milford on Tuesday.
Laflamme had 18 points while Dufoe scored 17 points, including five 3-pointers, as the Cougars (13-2) won their sixth in a row. Reagan Ayers added three 3s for nine points while Anna Fazelat and Emma Sloper each scored eight points.
Shea Hansen led the Spartans (6-9) with 14 points, as she went 7 of 8 at the free throw line and had two 3-pointers. Jordyn Shaw added eight points, including a 3, for Milford.
Bedford 39, Salem 26
Juliet Laws had 13 points to help lead the Bulldogs past the Blue Devils.
Mel McCarthy was also in double figures with 11 points for Bedford (15-1) and Sarah Muir recorded seven points.
Makayla Burns and Morgann Raskow each had 10 points, with two 3-pointers apiece, to lead Salem (9-7).
Exeter 72, Goffstown 37
The Blue Hawks won their seventh in a row with a big home win over the Grizzlies.
Jessica Melick scored 22 points and had eight rebounds to lead the way for Exeter (12-4) while Lexy Rogers added 18 points and five steals and Nicole Melick had 14 points and nine boards.
May Atlee chipped in with eight points and Maya Simeone scored five while Emme Kayes, Mya Dinneen and Ava Cammarata each had five assists.
Concord Christian 50, Pinkerton 28
Madison Lecesse scored 10 points but it wasn’t enough, as the Astros fell on the road to the Kingsmen.
Taya Brown added two 3-pointers and finished with six points while Brooke Benz also scored six points for Pinkerton (7-9). The game was tied at 10 after one quarter, but Concord Christian (15-1) broke open the game with a 21-point third quarter.
Souhegan 48, Sanborn
The Sabers got out to an 18-4 lead in the first quarter and never looked back in a win over the Indians.
Nayaa Dineshkumar led Souhegan (11-5) with 11 points while Mariellah Dart, Brynn Siska and Zofia Rosenfield scored eight points apiece.
Gwen Lavalley, Kaylee Fortin and Madelyn Rockwell each had four points to lead Sanborn.
Oyster River 54, ConVal 36
Wren Horne scored 23 points to lead the Bobcats to a win over the Cougars.
Eva Bebbington added nine points and Ashling Ferris chipped in with eight markers for Oyster River (9-6), which snapped a two-game skid. Payton Drapeau also had six points in the win.
Manchester Central-West 50, Timberlane 40
Central-West led by 17 points at halftime and held on for a win over the Owls.
Leyla Mohammed led MCW (10-5) with 15 points while Danasia Wani scored 10 points and Tianna Mann recorded nine, as Central-West led 28-11 at the break.
Sam Mooney had 15 points and Rylee Donahue scored 13 points for Timberlane (10-6), while Lila Fitzgerald added eight markers.
Boys Basketball
Trinity 65, Windham 50
The Jaguars tried to rally late but couldn’t come back against the Pioneers.
Sam Roidoulis led Windham (9-7) with 21 points while Brandon Jacobs scored 15 points.
Pelham 73, Coe-Brown 37
The Pythons bounced back from a loss to beat the Bears and get their sixth win in the last seven games.
Brady O’Connor led the way with 18 points for Pelham (12-3) while Luke Etsell scored 16 points and Brady Hegan was also in double figures with 14 points.
