Around the Granite State: Dover boys lacrosse picks up win over Merrimack (video)

MERRIMACK – The Dover High School boys lacrosse team started fast and held off Merrimack for a 12-2 win Friday.

The Green Wave (11-5, No. 9 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) connected on their first seven shots to take a 7-0 lead after one quarter on the way to their fourth win in a row.

Cooper Ketcham had four goals and three assists and Sylas Brown had three goals and three assists to lead Dover. Parker Ketcham added two goals and three assists and Logan Carter also scored twice while Porter Gray also had a goal and Geffin Adorian and Danny Bretz each had an assist.

Bretz also made 10 saves while Adorian, Cowen Kozlowski, Julian Sprague, Owen Wood and Ethan Morin also played well for the Green Wave.

Gavin Hickey and Cayden Dine each had a goal for the Tomahawks (9-6) while Josh Kahn had an assist and Mason Tremblay finished with 20 saves.

Timberlane 14, Nashua North 13

Landon Petry had five goals to help lead the Owls to a win over the Titans.

Rocco Psareas added four goals and two assists, including the 200th point of his career, while Hayden Corman had two goals. Gio Recesso had a goal and an assist while Dylan Lindblad and Bradyn Gillespie had a goal apiece.

Ryan Bazidane finished seven saves for Timberlane (6-6 in D2).

Nick Wilkinson and Nico Bottari had three goals and three assists apiece for North (5-11 in D1) while Dylan Noble also scored three goals.

Jared Gauthier had a goal and three assists and Gavin Dungan had two scores while Josh Parsons finished with 15 saves.

No. 7 Derryfield 13, Nashua South 4

Dom Cercone scored six goals and had two assists as the Cougars picked up the win over the Panthers.

Ryan Maxwell added two goals and six assists and Emerson Stover had two goals and two assists for Derryfield (13-2). Garrett Lande had a goal and an assist while Vittorio Masoni and Mitch Labee added a goal apiece.

Jackson Hatfield was 16 of 18 on faceoffs and Liam England finished with 10 saves.

Grant Imbeault led South (7-9) with a pair of goals and Max Signoroni had a goal and an assist. Jason Brinley also had a goal and Brendan Skelley had an assist while Bryce Stuart made 13 saves.

Oyster River-Newmarket 9, Hanover 7

Demitrius Tsakiris scored three goals to help the Bobcats extend their win streak to seven games after a win over the Bears.

Jeff Keyes and Alex Moody added two goals and an assist apiece for ORN (10-3) while Blake Callander and Jadyn Smart (one assist) each had a goal. Parker Ouellette also had an assist and Grant Norris made 10 saves.

Campbell 9, Bishop Brady 5

Ray Weatherbee made 24 saves for the Giants but it wasn’t enough to overcome a slow start against the Cougars.

Thad Schmolke had two goals and Ryan Haught had a goal and an assist to lead Bishop Brady (7-6) while Jon Lazear and Cole Chandler had a goal apiece.

Lebanon 11, Milford 6

Dylan McLeod and Bentley Bowers had two goals apiece for the Spartans in a road loss to the Raiders.

Lukas Mangum and Tiegan Barb each added a goal and Lincoln St. Jean recorded an assist for Milford (3-12). Rocco Bartling recorded 22 saves for the Spartans.

No. 5 Winnacunnet 16, Souhegan 2

The Warriors extended their win streak to 13 in a row by getting a road win over the Sabers.

Beckett Rath had three goals and two assists while Specner Zigler and Alec Mitchell had three goals and an assist apiece for Winnacunnet (13-1). Anthony Magri also scored three times and Brian McCown had two goals and three assists.

Junior Paschal and Mason Ayala each had a goal while Michael Bramhall had two assists. Will Phillips and Burke Spalding also had an assist apiece.

Souhegan (3-9) got both of its goals from Judd Harris.

Girls Lacrosse

John Stark 16, ConVal 1

Addie DeCew had five goals and an assist, including her 100th career point, as the Generals rolled past the Cougars.

Zoe Lawson added four goals and an assist and Claudia Dustin had a goal and four assists to lead John Stark (10-3). Hannah Perkins had two goals and an assist and Aislyn Smith also scored twice.

Natalie Dingman and Sammi Viarengo chipped in a goal apiece in the win.

Merrimack 20, Spaulding 4

Riley Taylor had six goals and two assists to help the Tomahawks pick up a win over the Red Raiders.

Lyla Carls added four goals and three assists and Jackie Hayes and Ava Woods each had three goals and an assist for Merrimack (8-4). Liv Mitchell scored a goal and had three assists while Liv Dine and Viv Torres had a goal apiece.

Taylor also finished with 13 draw controls while Hayes had three and Sophia Richard made three saves.

No. 9 Timberlane 20, Merrimack Valley 10

The Owls got their eighth win in a row by beating the Pride.

Rylee Donahue had eight goals, four assists, 10 draw controls and two caused turnovers and Julia Johnson had four goals, three assists, six draw controls and two caused turnovers to lead Timberlane (13-1). Lila Fitzgerald scored three times and had three assists to go with three draw controls.

Ava Paul had two goals, two assists and two groundballs while Alexa Ring, Aubrey Fitzgerald and Mia Morrier added a goal apiece. Kasey Fitzgerald had five caused turnovers and Mackenzie Norcott also played well defensively while Kayla Apitz had four saves.

Kearsarge 14, Bishop Brady 4

Addy Rossi scored her 100th career goal as the Cougars picked up a win over the Giants.
