GOFFSTOWN – Ella Deroy scored twice in the second half to help the Dover High School field hockey team pull away Wednesday for a 4-1 win over Goffstown.

Hannah Deroy and Mya Kageleiry added a goal apiece, with Hannah Deroy’s goal breaking a 1-1 tie with 6:39 left in the second quarter. It remained a 2-1 game through the rest of the half and into the third, when Ella Deroy scored in the final minute to give the Green Wave (2-0, No. 4 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) a two-goal lead.

Scarlett Gray made five saves for Dover, which had nine penalty corners.

Finley Heath scored for Goffstown (1-1) with 3:02 remaining in the first quarter to tie the game. Hope Moulton finished with 18 saves.

No. 1 Bedford 7, No. 8 Bishop Guertin 1

Teagan O’Donnell scored three goals to help lead the Bulldogs to a win over the Cardinals in their first game of the season.

Elise Montagano added a goal and two assists and Mary Lenti scored twice as Bedford (1-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter. Ella Putney also had a goal and Mia Katane recorded an assist.

Addison Daddona scored for Bishop Guertin (1-1).

Merrimack 2, No. 5 Winnacunnet 2

Ava Woods and Genevieve Hill both scored as the Tomahawks went on the road and played to a tie against the Warriors.

Allie Wyand picked up an assist on Hill’s goal, which gave Merrimack (0-1-1) a 2-1 lead in the third quarter. Winnacunnet was able to tie it up but Jackie Hayes and Liv Mitchell played well to keep the score there and send it to overtime.

Annabelle Cassetty finished with 24 saves for the Tomahawks.

No. 6 Keene 4, No. 2 Pinkerton 2 

McKenna Nelson scored three times to help lead the Blackbirds past the Astros.

Natalia Gillis also had a goal for Keene (2-0) while Olive Thatcher had two assists and Scarlett Miller had one helper. Dayna English finished with six saves while Emma Petrovich and Emily Antosiewicz played well defensively and Lola Ballaro had a solid overall game at midfield.

Cayden Madeiros and Francesca Doyle (one assist) each had a goal for Pinkerton (1-1). Molly Kuncik made 16 saves and Brynn McKenna played well for the Astros.

Timberlane 5, Nashua South 1

The Owls got two goals from Rylee O’Connor to get their first win of the season in their home opener against the Panthers.

Aria Lobao, Taylor Alperin and Aubrey Fitzgerald added a goal apiece and Brooke Salafia recorded an assist. Austin Peters finished with two saves while Timberlane (1-1) had 16 penalty corners and 21 shots on goal.

Addie Borden scored for South (0-2) while Meury Navarette made 11 saves. Wylie Hart, Emme Christian and Molly Mullaney also played well for the Panthers.

No. 10 Londonderry 1, Windham 0 (OT)

Sadie Moore scored in overtime to give the Lancers a win over the Jaguars.

Lexi Padykula added an assist while Annika Lewis recorded a defensive saves for Londonderry (2-0). Abbigail Cook (one save) and Molly Tharrington (two) split time in goal.

Windham (0-2) got 22 saves from Dana McAleer while Megan Hallisey and Ella Wilkins both played well defensively.

Salem 2, Portsmouth 0

Lexi Whipple had a goal and an assist to lead the Blue Devils to a season-opening win over the Clippers.

Avery Aliberti also scored for Salem while Heather Lee O’Rourke added an assist.

Hopkinton 6, Mascenic 0

Ryan Barrett and Carlie Leino had two goals apiece to lead the Hawks to the win over the Vikings.

Autumn Meier added a goal and an assist for Hopkinton (1-0) while Lauren Vetter also scored and Dahlia Perry also had an assist. Heidi Archambault recorded her first shutout in goal and Sadie Pelletier was strong defensively.

John Stark 2, Hanover 0

Caylin Worthen scored twice in the fourth quarter to lead the Generals to a win over the Bears.

Claudia Dustin and Ava Friberg each had an assist for John Stark (2-0) while Kaitlin Dennis, Maxine Lundeen, Madleyn Landrigan and Stella Oullette played well.

Concord 4, Nashua North 0

The Crimson Tide picked up a road win over the Titans, getting four goals from four players.

Kate Fennely, Anya Kendziora, Amy Desrochers and Emma Barry each had a goal in the win for Concord (2-0).

Pembroke 1, Laconia o (OT) 

Avery Kelly scored in the final minute of overtime to give the Spartans their second win in as many days.

Ashlyn Barker had an assist on the goal for Pembroke (2-0).

St. Thomas 1, Newfound 0

Mollie Gaynor scored the game’s only goal, the first of the freshman’s varsity career, and the Saints grabbed a road win over the Bears.

Bizzy Pelletier recorded a shutout in goal for the win.

Gilford 3, Stevens 1

The Golden Eagles got goals from Grace Southworth, Riley Coutts and Kierra Walker in a win over the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Goalie Madi Breton and Rowan Worthen led the defense for the Golden Eagles (2-0).

Girls Volleyball

Epping 3, Portsmouth Christian 1

The Eagles dropped their opener on the road to the Blue Devils. Game scores were 25-14, 18-25, 25-19 and 25-23.

Bea Monahan had five kills, seven digs and five aces for PCA while Lexi Jordan had 11 assists and two aces. Marion Spurr had four aces and 12 digs and Dylan Anderson recorded two blocks.
