Around the Granite State: Exeter girls basketball bounces back with win over Spaulding
Here are results from recent high school action.
Lexy Rogers scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help lead the Exeter High School girls basketball team to an 84-29 win Monday over Spaulding.
Anna McGuinness added 13 points and six assists and Karli Scherpf also had 13 points and recorded three steals, as the Blue Hawks (5-5 in Division I) stopped a two-game slide. Every player that got in the game for Exeter scored.
Spaulding (1-12) were led by Meagan Uraskevich, who finished with 14 points.
Timberlane 44, Sanborn 21
Rylee Donahue had 13 points to help lead the Owls to a win over the Indians.
Ella Lampron added 11 points for Timberlane (6-6 in D1), which outscored Sanborn, 17-4, in the third quarter to break the game open. Sam Mooney also had eight points for the Owls.
Ellie Rankin led Sanborn with seven points and Maya Thompson finished with six points.
Boys Basketball
Sanborn 69, Timberlane 35
The Indians rolled to a win over the Owls for the second time this season.
Dylan Rego led the way with 23 points and Chase Frizzell had 15 points for Sanborn, which beat Timberlane by three points when the teams played 10 days ago.
Mike Santosuosso led the Owls with eight points.
Merrimack Valley 69, Bishop Brady 52
The Pride overcame a slow start on Saturday to beat the Giants and bounce back from their first loss.
Nic Oglesby led MV (8-1 in D2) with 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Aiden Gray had 15 points and four assists.
