Around the Granite State: Exeter girls basketball edges Portsmouth in OT
Here are results from Thursday’s high school basketball action.
Lexy Rogers hit the go-ahead free throw in overtime Thursday night to help the Exeter High School girls basketball team to a 48-47 win over Portsmouth.
Rogers had 11 points and six rebounds while Emme Kayes had 14 points and four steals for the Blue Hawks. Jessica Melick added nine points and nine rebounds in the win.
Nashua South 56, Timberlane 44
Hailey Cote hit five 3-pointers and had 18 points to help the Panthers to a win over the Owls.
Nicole De Jesus added 13 points for South, which improved to 3-0 on the season after getting out to a 28-9 lead at halftime.
Sam Mooney had 23 points for Timberlane (2-1), which suffered its first loss of the year.
Pinkerton 70, Concord 24
Brooke Benz scored 21 points to help the Astros take a 36-8 lead at halftime on the way to a win over the Crimson Tide.
Taya Brown was also in double figures with 15 points while Madison Leccese had seven points and Julia Caruso chipped in with six.
Concord Christian 70, Manchester Memorial 19
Emma Smith scored 26 points to lead the Kingsmen to the win over the Crusaders.
Emma Laboe and Brynn Valliant each had 12 points and Sophia Capsalis had nine points for Concord Christian.
Avery Jenkins led Memorial with eight points while Taelyn Gould-Poulin had four points and Jaelyn Hartford added three.
Boys Basketball
Windham 80, Manchester Central 67
The Jaguars improved to 3-0 on the season with a win over the Little Green.
Tyler Jordan led the way for Windham with 29 points while Brandon Jacobs added 24 points and Sam Roidoulis scored 21.
