Around the Granite State: Exeter girls basketball gets win over Pinkerton

Here are results from Monday night’s high school sports action.

Lexy Rogers had 20 points to help lead the Exeter High School girls basketball team to a 44-35 win Monday night over Pinkerton Academy.

May Atlee added 11 points for the Blue Hawks (2-2) while Jessica Melick had five points and 11 rebounds. Emme Kayes finished with six assists in the win.

Brooke Benz led the Astros (2-2) with 11 points while Madison Leccese had seven points and Cara Mahn added six points.

Boys Basketball

Belmont 54, Campbell 17

Evan Martinez had 18 points to lead the Red Raiders to the win over the Cougars.

Wyatt Carroll added 12 points while Brody Ennis recorded eight for Belmont.

Boys Hockey

Concord 3, Exeter 0

Nolan Walsh scored in the first period and the Crimson Tide held off the Blue Hawks for the win.

Carter Heise had 18 saves to get the shutout for Concord while Tyler Morin and Austin Proulx each had empty-net goals.

St. Thomas 1, Keene 0

AJ Kozlowski scored the game’s only goal for the Saints in a road win over the Blackbirds.

Zack Pattow made 26 saves to get the shutout win.

Windham 4, Londonderry 2

The Lancers came up short against the Jaguars despite getting goals from Michael Bell and Nicholas Bishop.

Mason Nadeau added an assist for Londonderry.

Wrestling

Souhegan takes 2nd (Saturday)

The Sabers came in second out of 24 teams at the Londonderry Holiday Tournament.

Jack Kaler (132), Chase Knuckles (144) and Gabe Holt (285) each finished first in their respective weight class for Souhegan. Patrick Casey (165) came in second, while Landon Carson (138) and Alex Sarfde (150) each finished third.

In the girls tournament, Ava Burbee (138) won her weight class while Emily Zirak (126) came in second.

Keene competes at Bossi (Saturday)

The Blackbirds recorded 88.5 points to finish 16th out of 74 teams at the George Bossi Holiday Wrestling Invitational in Lowell.

Leo Runez led Keene with a fifth-place finish at 144 pounds while Ian Spencer (138) and Jake Hamm (157) each finished seventh in their respective weight classes.

Jack Gillard (165), Illias Azizedine (175) and Kaleb Miner (150) also performed well for Keene.

The Keene girls finished 16th out of 46 teams at the tournament, led by fifth-place finishes from Rachel Felegara (165) and Sofia Demitrovich (235). Ella Guyette (185) also came in sixth.
