NASHUA – Hilde Hieronymus scored twice in the first half to help lead the Goffstown High School field hockey team to a 2-0 win Friday afternoon over Nashua North at Stellos Stadium.

Trinity Lunn assisted on both goals, with the opening goal giving the Grizzlies the lead with 7:50 left in the first quarter. Hieronymus’s second score came with 10:19 remaining in the half.

Goffstown (1-0) had chance in the second half, including five penalty corners, but the Titans (0-1) defense, led by goalie Mya Zibolis, Savanna Basford and Julia Saucier, kept the Grizzlies from adding to the lead. Molly Ducharme also played well for North.

Molly Braica finished with for saves for the Grizzlies.

Hollis Brookline 2, Derryfield 0

Nyah Jernberg and Addison Marchant each scored in the final seven minutes of the first half to help the Cavaliers open the year with a win over the Cougars in Division II action.

Brooke Bouchard assisted on Jernberg’s goal with 6:55 left in the second quarter and Sabrina Hill picked up the helper on Marchant’s goal with 56 seconds remaining in the half. The second goal came off a penalty corner, one of 10 on the night for the HB (1-0).

Jess Avalon finished with 17 saves for Derryfield (0-1).

Bow 8, ConVal 0

Ella Gray had three goals and an assist to lead the Falcons to an opening win over the Cougars in a D2 game.

Kaylee Jacques added two goals and Peyton Vaughn had a goal and two assists. Josie Johnson and Shire Kelley added a goal apiece while Kayla Croscut played well in goal for Bow (1-0).

Ronia Foecking played well in goal for ConVal (0-1).

Pelham 1, Kingswood 0

Sarah Bellahrossi got the game’s lone goal to give the Pythons a D2 road win over the Knights to start the season.

Jordan Robito assisted on the goal and Addie Breault picked up the win in net for Pelham (1-0).

Hanover 3, No. 8 Souhegan 2

Freshman Maddie  Reder had a goal and an assist to help the Bears to a win over the Sabers in the D2 opener for both teams.

Grace Healey and Joia Collins also scored for Hanover (1-0) while Sophia Mancini and Greta Mancini each had an assist.

Souhegan (0-1) got goals from Brooke Fallon and Emeline Godin.

Keene 3, No. 2 Exeter 2

Scarlett Miller scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the third quarter to give the Blackbirds a win over the Blue Hawks in the D1 opener.

Avery Allaire assisted on the goal while CeCe Walier gave Keene (1-0) the lead just two minutes into the game. McKenna Nelson also scored for the Blackbirds off an assist from Olive Thatcher on a penalty corner.

Exeter (0-1) scored once in the third and fourth, but couldn’t capitalize on a late corner. Keene’s Lilly Rowell finished with five saves.

No. 10 Londonderry 2, Merrimack 0

Ava Windisch and Alison Chambers each had a goal for the Lancers, as they opened D1 play with a win over the Tomahawks.

Avery Stowell had an assist and Molly Tharrington made two saves for Londonderry (1-0).

Merrimack (0-1) got 10 saves from Annabelle Cassetty.

Winnacunnet 6, Nashua South 1

Fiona McAfee and Reese Gandt had a pair of goals each as the Warriors defeated the Panthers to start the D1 season.

Lexi Whelan and Anna Bassett also had a goal apiece for Winnacunnet (1-0).

Wylie Hart scored off an assist from Keegan Dolan on a penalty corner for South (0-1). Meury Navarette finished with 13 saves and Karina O’Donnell and Emily Richard played well for the Panthers.

No. 7 Bishop Guertin 10, Timberlane 0

Sarah Brunelle scored four goals to help the Cardinals to a big win over the Owls in the first D1 game of the year.

Emily Vincinguerra had a goal and two assists and Sophie Bilodeau and Addison Daddona had a goal and an assist each. Maddie Harrington dished out two assists while Sophia Harrington, Carly Green and Abby Lynn had a goal apiece.

No. 6 Pinkerton 3, No. 4 Windham 1

Jaelyn Crossman had two goals to lead the Astros past the Jaguars to open the D1 season.

Ayvree Hamilton had a goal and an assist for Pinkerton (1-0).

Sedona Lee scored off a penalty corner for Windham (0-1) with Sophie Manchester getting an assist.
