Around the Granite State: Goffstown girls lacrosse slips past Hollis Brookline

Trinity Lunn scored five goals and had an assist to help the Goffstown High School girls lacrosse team get a 9-8 win Thursday against Hollis Brookline.

Ella Coletti also had two goals and two assists while causing four turnovers and Sydney Lavoie added a goal and two assists for the Grizzlies (9-3). Paige Winters also had a goal.

Mia Brisette had an assist, six draw controls and three caused turnovers and Thea Soucy chipped in with an assist. Yeimi Martinez finished with three saves, two of which came in the final minute of the game to secure the win for Goffstown.

No. 2 Souhegan 8, No. 5 Bishop Guertin 7

The Sabers were able to hold off the Cardinals to get their 10th win in a row.

Libby Kenney and Averie Curran each had three goals to lead Souhegan (12-1) while Lanai Hickman had a goal and an assist. Emmie Curran also scored for the Sabers.

No. 9 Timberlane 16, Alvirne 1

Lila Fitzgerald scored four goals, including the 100th of her high school career, as the Owls cruised past the Broncos.

Rylee Donahue added three goals, two assists and nine draw controls while Grace Gerhard also had three goals for Timberlane (12-1, No. 9 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll). Aubrey Fitzgerald scored a goal and had two assists.

Julia Johnson (two caused turovers), Ava Paul, Anita Scibelli and Izzy Chartier had a goal and an assist apiece while Kasey Fitzgerald had a goal and Mia Morrier had an assist.

Elle Sarcione, Mackenzie Laschi, Alexa Ring and Mackenzie Norcott also played well while Kayle Apitz finished with five saves.

Coe-Brown 21, Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough 2

Avery Keefe and Ellie Escabi each had five goals and two assists to lead the Bears past the Lakers.

Morgan Readel added two goals and two assists and Alexis Thomas also had a goal and three assists for Coe-Brown (10-3). Ady Moynihan had three interceptions to go with an assist and a caused turnover.

Ainsley Albert and Bre Peters also played well defensively while goalie Hailey Smith had six saves, including the 100th of her first varsity season.

Makayla Peterson and Kate Taylor both scored a goal for the Lakers,  while Lilly Sousa and Reece Lavallee stepped in to share time in goal.

Lebanon 13, Belmont 3

Shelby Mason had 18 saves for the Red Raiders, giving her 200 saves for the season, and helped Belmont hold Lebanon scoreless in the second half.

Daylan Henry had two goals and Brooke Murphy also had a score for the Red Raiders while Reese Paguette, Kira Perry, Morgan Schofield, Grace Collins, Augusta Provencale and Gabby Murphy played well.

Boys Lacrosse

Timberlane 17, Merrimack Valley 2

Rocco Psareas had six goals and four assists to lead the Owls past the Pride.

Landon Petry added two goals and four assists for Timberlane (5-6) while Dyland Lindblad had two goals and an assist and Andrew Kellerman scored twice.

Gio Recesso, Gavin Dubois, Hayden Corman, Matt Bartholomew and Noah Beckler added a goal apiece in the win.

No. 9 Dover 13, Concord 10

The Green Wave rallied from a three-goal deficit in the third quarter to get the win over the Crimson Tide.

Parker Ketcham scored three goals and had five assists while Cooper Ketcham had three goals and three assists and Logan Carter had three goals and an assist for Dover (10-5).

Porter Gray also had three goals while Geffin Adorian scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in transition and played well on defense. Danny Bretz made 10 saves and Owen Wood won 52 percent of his faceoffs.
