Around the Granite State: Hanover moves on to D2 field hockey quarterfinals
Here are results from Wednesday and Thursday’s high school field hockey playoff action.
The sixth-seeded Hanover High School field hockey team opened up a close game in the second half to beat No. 11 Kennett 6-0 Thursday in the Division II preliminary round.
Greta Mancini and Sophia Mancini each had two goals and an assist while Anya Nyhan also scored twice for the Bears (11-5), with all but one of those coming in the second half. Joia Collins added an assist and controlled play in the midfield.
Harper Rogers Regenthal had seven saves for Hanover and Maya Antonelli played well defensively.
The Bears move on to face No. 3 John Stark (13-1-2) in the quarterfinals at 2 p.m. Sunday in Weare.

The Huskies saw their season come to an end Wednesday as they fell to the Golden Eagles in the Division III playoffs.
Brooklyn Kidney had the goal for Monadnock (5-10), which was in the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Makayla Harwood recorded 10 saves for the Huskies.
