Around the Granite State: Hollis Brookline field hockey bounces back against Kingswood
Here are highlights from Monday’s high school sports action.
HOLLIS – The Hollis Brookline High School field hockey team bounced back from its first loss with a 2-0 win Monday over Kingswood.
Ashley Disco had a goal and an assist and Sabrina Hill also scored for the Cavaliers (7-1, No. 10 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll). Emily Tebbetts added an assist and Maddie Barich made four saves.
Isabella Bush had eight saves for Kingswood (3-5).
Plymouth 1, John Stark 0
The Bobcats scored the game’s only goal off a penalty corner to beat the Generals.
Trista Strickland deflected a shot by Lucia Sakin in the second quarter for Plymouth (6-2) while Aubrey Brunt played well in the midfield.
No. 1 Keene 1, No. 9 Concord 0
Avery Allair scored with 49 seconds remaining to keep the Blackbirds undefeated with a win over the Crimson Tide.
Allaire scored on a penalty corner, deflecting a shot by Sofia Miller. Lilly Rowell finished with four saves, including a diving stop with two minutes remaining for Keene (8-0).
No. 6 Pinkerton 2, No. 8 Winnacunnet 1
Meaghan Shea and Jaelyn Crossman each had a goal to give the Astros a key win over the Warriors.
Ayvree Hamilton added an assist for Pinkerton (5-3).
No. 4 Dover 3, Timberlane 0
Hannah Deroy picked up two assists to help the Green Wave past the Owls.
Giana Leonardi, Kayla Robins and Erin Lynch had a goal apiece for Dover (7-1-1) and Scarlett Gray had five saves.
Londonderry 2, Salem 1
Molly Tharrington made 10 saves to help the Lancers hang on for a win over the Blue Devils.
Seinna Schulz and Lindsey McKinnon each had a goal for Londonderry (4-4) while Ava Windisch and Jiselle Silvestro each had an assist.
Ella Mosto scored the lone goal for Salem (3-5) while Zeynep Yildirim finished with five saves.
Nashua South 4, Nashua North 0
Keegan Dolan had two goals and an assist to lead the Panthers past the Titans.
Saige Devins and Karina O’Donnell each added a goal while Wylie Hart and Isabel Picanco had an assist apiece. Meury Navarette finished with six saves for South (2-6) while Molly Mullaney, Sofia Forte, Ava DerGarabedian and Emily Richard played well.
No. 5 Bishop Guertin 2, Merrimack 0
The Cardinals got their sixth win in a row by beating the Tomahawks.
Sophie Bilodeau and Sophia Harrington had a goal apiece for Bishop Guertin (7-1) while Maddie Harrington and Carly Green each had an assist Gabby Gillette played well defensively in the win.
Girls Volleyball
Hollis Brookline 3, Dover 2
The Cavaliers went the distance to get the win over the Green Wave. Game scores were 25-16, 23-25, 25-17, 23-25 and 15-9.
Maggie Noble had 16 kills and one ace for HB (5-1) and Lolly Adair had 12 kills and four aces. Kate Berrigan recorded nine kills and had six aces and Anika Carlson finished with eight kills.
