Around the Granite State: Hollis Brookline field hockey continues run with win over Derryfield

HOLLIS – Emily Tebbetts had three goals to help the Hollis Brookline High School field hockey team to a 4-1 win Monday over the Derryfield School.

Brooke Bouchard also had a goal and an assist for the Cavaliers (9-2, No. 6 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll), who won their ninth straight game. Sabrina Hill also had an assist.

The Cougars (3-5-2) got a goal from Charlotte Smith with Brianna Murray getting an assist. Jess Avalon made 17 saves for Derryfield.

Londonderry 4, Nashua North 0

Ashleigh Leone had a goal and two assists to help lead the Lancers to a win over the Titans.

Ava Windisch, Alison Chambers and Taylor McKinnon added a goal apiece and Ava Griffin recorded an assist. Abbigail Cook played well in goal for Londonderry.

Abby O’Malley made 19 saves in goal for North.

No. 1 Windham 5, Bedford 1

Sophia Ponzini and Ava Pelletier each had two goals to lead the Jaguars past the Bulldogs.

Ponzini also had an assist while Sophie Manchester added a goal and Ava Sanchez had an assist. Julianna Vougias made three saves in goal while Mia Gallinelli and Sedona Lee also played well.

No. 7 Exeter 3, Manchester Central-West 0

Chloe Gilroy made 38 saves for Central-West, but it wasn’t enough against the Blue Hawks.

Colleen Stankiewicz, Sophie Roux and Armani Holmes played well for Central-West.

Laconia 5, Milford 2

Mairead Kirby scored twice for the Spartans, but they came up short against the Sachems.

Addy Pare and Maura St. Onge each had an assist for Milford while Ari Wales made four saves.

No. 5 Pinkerton 4, Nashua North 0 (Saturday)

Four players had a goal each for the Astros as they blanked the Titans.

Tatum Billingsley, Anna Perkins, Natalie Paradzick and Jaelyn Crossman each had a goal for Pinkerton. Ava Bennett had two assists while Hannah Lisauskas and Abby Shawley had one apiece.

Elise LeBlanc made five saves for the Astros while North goalie Abby O’Malley made 12 stops.

Girls Volleyball

Hollis Brookline 3, Exeter 0

The Cavaliers picked up the sweep of the Blue Hawks in three close sets. Game scores were 25-21, 25-23 and 25-21.

Annette Schlunk had 16 kills and 10 digs and Libby Getter added three aces and 21 assists for HB (9-2). Maia Schnieder recorded 19 digs and six aces and Malaya Colena had six digs.

Portsmouth Christian 3, Moultonborough 0

The Eagles won their fifth in a row by sweeping the Panthers at home. Game scores were 25-23, 25-12 and 25-22.

Heidi Geyer had seven kills and three aces for PCA (7-3) and Quinn Arico had six kills, seven assists and six aces. Kailey Holt added 15 assists, three aces and four digs.

Maycie Andress also had five kills and three aces while Emma Eisner had four digs and Kate Wesley had two blocks.
