Around the Granite State: Hollis Brookline field hockey extends unbeaten streak to 10 (video)

HOLLIS – Anna McGurk scored in the first quarter and the Hollis Brookline High School field hockey team made it stand up for a 1-0 win Wednesday over Plymouth.

McGurk took a shot on a rush while falling to the ground and the ball found its way through for the Cavaliers (12-2-1) with three minutes remaining in the first quarter. Maddie Barich came up with seven saves for HB, which has gone unbeaten (9-0-1) in its last 10 games.

Carmen Donis recorded 32 saves for the Bobcats (9-6).

No. 7 Dover 1, Windham 1 (OT)

Each team scored in the final five minutes of regulation and the Green Wave and Jaguars remained tied after a scoreless overtime.

Ella Deroy put Dover (10-4-2, No. 7 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) on the board with four minutes remaining.  Jaidyn Seitzer scored on a penalty corner for Windham (6-8-2) with nine seconds left in regulation to force the overtime.

Scarlett Gray finished with eight saves for the Green Wave.

Bishop Guertin 2, No. 3 Londonderry 1

Addison Daddona scored both of her goals off penalty corners to help the Cardinals beat the Lancers and keep their season alive.

Londonderry (13-3) got a goal from Lexi Padykula to tie the game in the fourth quarter, but Daddona scored her second with four minutes to play for the win. Molly Tharrington had 12 saves for the Lancers.

No. 2 Keene 6, Goffstown 0

Scarlett Miller had three goals and two assists to lead the Blackbirds to the win over the Grizzlies.

Emily Antosiewicz, McKenna Nelson and Olive Thatcher also had a goal apiece for Keene (14-1-1). Dayna English recorded her 10th shutout in goal while Emma Petrovich, Paige Ells and Natalia Gillis played well.

No. 1 Bedford 8, Portsmouth 0

Eloise Montagano had two goals and two assists as the Bulldogs ended their regular season with a win over the Clippers.

Mary Lenti and Teagan O’Donnell also had two goals apiece for Bedford (14-1-1) and Taylor Bailey and Grace Wolf added a goal apiece. Ella Putney recorded an assist.

Reese McCauley recorded 24 saves for the Clippers (2-13).

No. 5 Pinkerton 8, Nashua South 1

Cara Murray had three goals and an assist and Gwen Lee scored twice for the Astros in their win over the Panthers.

Jordyn Schreiber and Ayvree Hamilton had a goal and an assist apiece while Cayden Madeiros also scored for Pinkerton (12-4). Jada Vasquez also had an assist and Violet Lloyd recorded one save.

Brooke Berger had a goal for South (3-13), as she tipped in a shot by Keegan Dolan on a penalty corner. Meury Navarrete had 17 saves and Lily Hurd finished with two stops. Emme Christian, Meenu Dwaraka, Molly Mullaney and Wylie Hart played well for the Panthers.

Exeter 3, Merrimack 1

The Tomahawks fell to the Blue Hawks in their regular-season finale, as Exeter scored twice in the second half to break open a close game.

Grace Massey had the lone goal for Merrimack (7-8-1) and Annabelle Cassetty finished with five saves.

Exeter (9-7) got goals from Emma Amarosa, Lizzie DeLello and Emmy Herring while Dani Caron recorded an assist.

No. 8 Timberlane 1, Concord 1 (OT)

The Owls and Crimson Tide played to the tie in Timberlane’s final home game of the regular season.

Taylor Alperin had the goal for the Owls (8-6-1) and Aubrey Fitzgerald recorded an assist. Austin Peters finished with three saves.

No. 4 Winnacunnet 3, Salem 0

The Warriors closed out the regular season with a shutout of the Blue Devils.

Maddy Garrant led the way with two goals for Winnacunnet (12-2-2) while McKinley Fowler also scored in the win.

Girls Volleyball

Bedford 3, Hollis Brookline 0

The Cavaliers fell on the road to the Bulldogs by scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-20.

Shelby and Hailey Klaassens had eight and six kills, respectively, while Max Walsh had 21 assists and Hershey Vedula played well defensively.

HB hosts Nashua South on Friday for HB Cares: Mental Health Awareness Night.
