Around the Granite State: Hollis Brookline, Nashua South boys lacrosse get close wins (videos)

HOLLIS – Mike O’Hearn scored with just under three minutes remaining Friday to give the Hollis Brookline High School boys lacrosse team a 9-8 win over Souhegan.

O’Hearn’s goal came with 2:56 remaining and came after the Sabers had tied the game with back-to-back goals just 36 seconds part with 4:45 to play. Souhegan (2-3) had led 6-4 midway through the third quarter, but a 4-0 run by HB (3-3) put the Cavs in front in the fourth.

Bennett Torgersen had three goals and an assist and O’Hearn finished with two goals for HB while Oliver Spencer, Bryce Cote, Luke Kinney and Sam Petrella (one assist) added a goal apiece. Levi Mitchell finished with 17 saves.

Jud Harris scored three goals and Nate Hill had two goals and two assists for Souhegan. Mason Mobley also had two goals and Owen Mobley added one goal while Sean Reardon recorded 11 saves.

Nashua South 7, Concord 6

NASHUA – Grant Imbeault had three goals to help lead the Panthers to a win over the Crimson Tide.

Raiden Nuy-Chao added two goals and an assist for South (3-3) while Owen Roy had a goal and an assist and Max Signoroni also scored. Joe Kudla and Cody Jackson each added an assist while Bryce Stuart made nine saves.

Concord (2-4) got two goals and an assist from Brayden Beauregard while Alex Leone and Ben Ryder added two goals apiece. Liam Yeatman recorded five assists and Harry Snow finished with eight saves.

Kennett 10, Laconia 7

The Eagles went on the road to get a win over the Sachems.

Carter Arnold, Charlie Murphy and JJ Baker each had three goals to lead Kennett (3-1) while Bryce Needham also had a goal.

Bishop Brady 12, Milford 2

Joey Richardson scored five goals and had three assists to lead the Giants to a win over the Spartans.

Thadius Schmolke added four goals and an assist and Jonah Vander Hooven scored three goals for Bishop Brady (2-3).

Milford (1-4) got a goal apiece from Braedon Orlen and Josh Clark while Dylan McLeod had an assist.

No. 10 Londonderry 18, Salem 3

Trey and Brody Campbell combined for 11 goals as the Lancers rolled to a win over the Blue Devils.

Trey Campbell had six goals and two assists and Brody Campbell had five goals and two assists while Owen Huard had a goal and three assists for Londonderry (2-3, No. 10 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll). Haden West also had two goals and an assist and Aidan Stowell and Austin Callahan (11 groundballs) each had a goal and an assist.

Mason Taylor and Ben Williams added a goal apiece, as both scored their first career varsity goals. Eli Bettencourt won 80 percent of the faceoffs he took and Sawyer Labonte won his first varsity faceoff and played well.

Broch St. Gelais recorded six saves for the Lancers and Wynn Shovlin played well defensively.

No. 6 Derryfield 17, Timberlane 8

Dom Cercone had six goals and an assist as the Cougars picked up a road win over the Owls.

Ryan Maxwell scored five goals and dished out four assists and Ermerson Stover had four goals and an assist for Derryfield (4-1). Heath Mueller added a goal and an assist and Vittorio Masoni also scored.

Jackson Hatfield was 13 of 14 on faceoffs and Awaab Mousa was 9 of 12 while Liam England made 10 saves.

Landon Petry had four goals and an assist to lead Timberlane (2-1), as he recorded the 200th point of his high school career.

Gio Recesso and Nicholas Vaccarezza added a goal and two assists apiece while Dylan Lindblad had a goal and an assist. Andrew Kellerman and Hayden Corman chipped in a goal each.

No. 5 Portsmouth 14, Spaulding 1

The Clippers got goals from 11 players as they rolled to a win over the Red Raiders.

Gus Baker had three goals and two assists and Max Deneen added two goals and two assists for Portsmouth (6-0). Cortland Barr and Gus Alati also had a goal and an assist apiece.

Miles Parker, Trevor Sifferlen, Chase Eberhardt, Max Russman, Reece Green, Will Quigley and Thayer Parkington each had a goal while Josh Cole had two assists and Luke Brandt added one.

Cooper Feragamo made seven saves and Isaac Burnett made two.

No. 7 Winnacunnet 15, Goffstown 1

Beckett Rath scored four goals and had two assists as the Warriors beat the Grizzlies in coach Pat Snow’s 100th win with Winnacunnet.

Spencer Zigler added three goals and four assists and Alec Mitchell also scored three times for the Warriors (5-1). Liam McNally and Burke Spalding had two goals apiece and Brian McCown had a goal and an assist.

Joel Williams made six saves in the win.

Pelham 7, Campbell 6 (OT)

Will Jeknavorian won the faceoff to start overtime and scored his third goal of the game to give the Pythons the win over the Cougars.

Aidan Cote added three goals and an assist, including the game-tying goal in the final minute, with Dom Peranelli getting an assist on the score. Goalie Jake Chafe helped lead the Pelham (4-2) defense.

Kearsarge 7, Gilford 4

Jack Fountaine had two goals for the Golden Eagles, but they came up short against the Cougars.

Kael Weber added a goal to go with six groundballs and three caused turnovers while Liam Sullivan was 8 of 13 on faceoffs and had four groundballs.

Keene-Monadnock 15, Nashua North 8

Nico Bottari scored four goals for the Titans, but they fell on the road to the Blackbirds.

Jared Gauthier also had a pair of goals for North (1-4) while Josh Parsons had 11 saves.

Girls Lacrosse

No. 4 Exeter 11, No. 5 Winnacunnet 10

Riley Benevides scored six goals and had an assist to help the Blue Hawks pick up a win over the Warriors.

Josie Drunsic added two goals for Exeter (5-1 in D1) while Phoebe Christenson had a goal and an assist. Avery Carrigan and Racquel Battle had a goal apiece and Makayla Sprague added an assist.

Molly Byrne finished with seven saves for the Blue Hawks.

Winnacunnet (4-2 in D2) got four goals and an assist from Ari Rizzo while McKinley Fowler had three goals and an assist. Elle Emory scored a goal and had three assists while Hannah Curtin had a goal and an assist and Emily Arlington also scored.

No. 7 Londonderry 20, Salem 4

Lexi Padykula had four goals and an assist to lead the Lancers to a win over the Blue Devils.

Cora Rogers had two goals and four assists and Summer Butler scored three times for Londonderry (4-2). Annabelle Melia had two goals and three assists while Addison Doyle had two goals and an assist and Molly Connors had a goal and two assists.

Melanie Kowaack, Madison Grennon, Lyndsey LaBossiere, Haley Doyle and Lilly Ciarametaro each added a goal while Molly Tharrington and Abby Cook combined for two saves in goal.

Katie Wood had a pair of goals for Salem (0-5).

John Stark 21, Trinity 6

Claudia Dustin (two assists) and Zoe Lawson (one) each had six goals to lead the Generals past the Pioneers.

Addie DeCew also had four goals and an assist and Addy Brunini scored a goal and had two assists for John Stark (3-1).

Kora Beard chipped in with a goal and an assist while Hannah Perkins had a goal and Sammi Viarengo scored her first career varsity goal. Karrinton Telen recorded an assist.

No. 3 Pinkerton 20, Manchester Central-West 1

Delaney Summers had six goals and Francesca Doyle had a goal and five assists as the Astros got a win over Central-West.

Ashley Morrow, Grace Morrison and Aryanna Fenner also had two goals apiece and Jojo Lockwood added a goal and two assists for Pinkerton (3-2). Parker Knowlton chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Cali Lockwood, Lexi Last, Core Udina, Lea Michelinie and Regan Corvino each added a goal while Paige Fenner made two saves.

No. 2 Souhegan 20, Nashua North 2

The Sabers had 14 players score as they cruised to a win over the Titans.

Libby Kennedy had three goals and two assists and Izzy Stevenson and Lanai Hickman added two goals and two assists apiece for Souhegan (3-1). Averie Curran and Sophia Jacobs each had two goals and Abbey Grey dished out three assists.

Emmie Curran, Meredith Heimark, Marly Bacon, Eva Stiles and Jaley Christianson each had a goal and an assist while Maddy Behn, Gabby Cook, Pheobe Handwerk and Madaline Houle had a goal apiece.

Savanna Basford and Gia Mucci both scored for North (0-3).
