Around the Granite State: Hopkinton field hockey gets OT win over Mascoma Valley (video)
Here are results from Tuesday’s high school field hockey action.
CONTOOCOOK – Autumn Meier scored in overtime to give the Hopkinton High School field hockey team a 3-2 win Tuesday over Mascoma Valley.
The goal came with 5:46 left in the extra session after Meier collected her own rebound and buried it in the far corner of the cage for the Hawks (8-1). The junior also had an assist while Ryan Barrett had both of Hopkinton’s goals in the first half for a 2-0 lead.
The Royals (6-2) battled back in the second half, getting two goals from Tori Petty, the first just 2:02 into the third quarter. The tying goal came with 10:22 remaining in regulation and both teams had chances to go in front before time expired.
Sam Harkins finished with 14 saves for Mascoma while Hopkinton’s Heidi Archambault had two saves.
Salem 3, Manchester 0
Nicole Ringdahl scored her first goal of the season as the Blue Devils knocked off the Kings.
Olivia Durkin and Avery Aliberti also had a goal apiece for Salem (6-4) while Kenzie Marino, Ella Whittaker and Brooke Morse each had an assist.
Olivia Schoenrock help lead the defense to its fifth shutout of the season.
No. 7 Souhegan 6, Pelham 0
Ella Russell and Scarlett Lecolst each had a pair of goals to lead the Sabers to a win over the Pythons.
Eme Godin and Bella Preston also scored for Souhegan (10-1) while Mariellah Dart and Ella Normandin had an assist apiece. Amelia Warecki earned the shut out in goal.
