Around the Granite State: Keene field hockey knocks off Bedford (video)

BEDFORD – The Keene High School field hockey team got an early lead and pulled away in the second half for a 3-0 win Monday night against Bedford.

Scarlett Miller opened the scoring with 6:05 left in the first quarter, putting in her own rebound on a breakaway. Mckenna Nelson made it 2-0 with 2:40 to go in the third, getting a goal off a penalty corner and Olive Thatcher finished out the scoring with 4:40 left.

Sofia Miller added an assist and Lilly Rowell had 10 saves for the Blackbirds (5-0, No. 2 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll), who are the only undefeated team remaining in Division I.

Addison Wolfinger finished with seven saves for the Bulldogs (5-1, No. 1).

Timberlane 1, Manchester Memorial-Central 0

Ava Paul scored the game’s only goal in the fourth quarter to give the Owls the win.

Lilly Clark finished with three saves for Timberlane (4-2), which had 13 penalty corners on the day.

No. 9 Concord 4, Merrimack 0

Ally McGonigle had two goals to help the Crimson Tide past the Tomahawks.

Eliana Wing and Lilly Merrill also scored for Concord (5-1), which led 3-0 at halftime.

No. 4 Exeter 3, No. 6 Pinkerton 2

The Astros came up short against the Blue Hawks, despite getting 11 saves from Molly Kuncik.

Jaelyn Crossman had a goal and an assist for Pinkerton (3-2) while Hannah Lisauskas scored a goal and Ayvree Hamilton added an assist.

Windham 3, Portsmouth 0

Ella Gallinelli had a goal and an assist to help the Jaguars get the win over the Clippers.

Sedona Lee and Rowan Bomba also had a goal apiece while Sophie Manchester recorded two assists for Windham (2-4). Mari Cavallo made two saves to get the shutout win.

No. 5 Bishop Guertin 8, Nashua North 0

Sophie Bilodeau scored four goals as the Cardinals picked up the win over the Titans.

Emily Vincinguerra added two goals and an assist for Bishop Guertin (5-1) while Sarah Brunelle also scored twice and Maddie Harrington had two assists.

Salem 4, Nashua South 0

Emily Young scored twice and the Blue Devils picked up a win over the Panthers.

Lexi Whipple and Lizzy Barry added a goal apiece and Ella Mosto had two assists for Salem (3-4). Abby Beeley also had an assist in the win.

South (1-5) got 12 saves from goalie Meury Navarette.

No. 10 Winnacunnet 4, Goffstown 0

Maddy Garrant had two goals as the Warriors picked up a win over the Grizzlies.

McKinley Fowler and Makenzie Martin also had a goal apiece for Winnacunnet (5-1).

Souhegan 3, Kennett 0

The Sabers picked up their third win in a row on the road against the Eagles.

Caitlin Ridings, Hanalia Dykstra and Ori Dart each had a goal for Souhegan (3-2) while Eme Godin had an assist. Amelia Warecki finished with four saves.

John Stark 3, Merrimack Valley 2 (OT)

Adie Bolduc scored the game-winner in overtime for the Generals, as they slipped past the Pride.

Caylin Worthen added a goal and an assist for John Stark (5-1) while Jillian Fredette had two assists. Addie Decew also scored for the Generals.

Girls Volleyball

Hollis Brookline 3, Bishop Guertin 2

The Cavaliers battled back to win the final two games and the match against the Cardinals. Game scores were 19-25, 25-23, 17-25, 25-17 and 15-13.

Kate Berrigan had 11 kills and four aces for HB (3-1) while Anika Carlson had seven kills and one ace and Maggie Nobble had eight kills and two aces.

Lolly Adair finished with six kills and Hershey Vedula recorded three aces.
