Around the Granite State: Keene-Monadnock boys lacrosse picks up third win
Here are results from Monday’s high school lacrosse action.
MANCHESTER – Dan Smith scored three goals to help lead the Keene-Monadnock boys lacrosse team to a 7-2 win Monday night over Manchester.
Trenton Hill also scored twice for the Blackbirds while Nick Fortier and Grady Erickson added a goal apiece. Dylan Yardley finished with 11 saves for Keene-Monadnock (3-6).
Brady Harrison and Cade Tripp each had a goal for the Kings (1-7) while Cam Roberge finished with seven saves.
Oyster River-Newmarket 4, No. 6 Portsmouth 2
Talon Beyer had two goals to help lead the Bobcats to a win over the Clippers.
Alex Moody and Carter Michaud also had a goal apiece and Cole Norris made 11 saves for ORN (3-3). Kavi Weber played well defensively for the Bobcats.
Sawyer Bouvier and Henry Purcell had a goal apiece for Portsmouth (5-4) and Kai Paterson finished with eight saves. Sam Biddle was 6 of 10 on faceoffs.
No. 7 Winnacunnet 17, Alvirne 4
Beckett Rath (one assist) and Anthony Magri each had four goals to lead the Warriors past the Broncos.
Liam McNally added three goals and an assist and Alec Mitchell had a goal and three assists and won every faceoff he took. Brian McCown also scored twice while Spencer Ziegler and Braden Nowak each had a goal and an assist.
Burke Spalding chipped in a goal and Chris Choquette and Wyatt Failey had an assist apiece for Winnacunnet (6-1, No. 7 in the MerchSquared.com/NHHSSports Coaches Poll).
Hollis Brookline 15, Hanover 4
The Cavaliers snapped a two-game skid with a big home win over the Bears.
JP Torgersen had two goals and five assists and Sam Petrella had a goal and four assists to lead HB (6-2). Bennett Torgersen added four goals and an assist and Mike O’Hearn scored three times.
Noah Taylor and Vittorio Masoni each had two goals and an assist while Colin Magnuszewski also scored.
Levi Mitchell finished with eight saves and Mason Acheson won 14 faceoffs. Patrick Masoni had five groundballs and three caused turnovers.
Bow 8, Gilford 2
Kian O’Leary had three goals to help lead the Falcons past the Golden Eagles.
Niko Mallios added two goals and an assist while Wyatt Premo had a goal and two assists. Cam Czarnosz and Parker Kazanowski each had a goal and an assist while Keenan Hubbard and Adam Auclair had an assist apiece.
Jake Antuna was 10 of 14 on faceoffs, including his 200th career faceoff win, and Brad Ekstrom finished with seven saves for Bow (5-0).
No. 8 Merrimack 8, Goffstown 1
Max Giles had two goals and two assists to lead the Tomahawks to a win over the Grizzlies.
Bret Vietry also had his first varsity goal while Petyon Connelly, Sean Anderson and Cayden Dine added a goal apiece. Gabe Gorman had an assist and Mason Tremblay finished with seven saves.
No. 10 Timberlane 19, Spaulding 1
Landon Petry had five goals and two assists for the Owls in a win over the Red Raiders.
Rocco Psareas scored two goals and had three assists while Cam Bonfiglio and Gaven Dubois had two goals and two assists apiece. Gio Recesso also scored twice and had an assist.
Mark St. Jean won 23 faceoffs and also had a goal while Bradyn Gillespie, Cole Rego, Jeremy Mlocek, Royce Dawdy and Noah Beckler each had a goal. Ryan Lueders recorded an assist.
No. 5 Derryfield 20, Merrimack Valley 6
RJ Proulx and Dom Cercone each had five goals and an assist to lead the Cougars past the Pride.
Ryan Maxwell added three goals and six assists for Derryfield (8-0) while Emerson Stover, Brady Doldo and Heath Mueller had two goals and two assists apiece.
Jackson Hatfield had a goal and two assists while Garrett Lande and Logan Dyer each had an assist. Liam England and Jaxon DeYoung had three saves a piece while Hatfield, Dylan Clyne and Awaab Mouse won 25 of 28 faceoffs.
Girls Lacrosse
No. 8 Merrimack 19, Manchester Memorial 2
Jackie Hayes (one assist) and Riley Taylor each scored four goals to lead the Tomahawks past the Crusaders.
Payton Trepaney and Lyla Carls added two goals and an assist apiece while Lexi Bell had a goal and two assists. Ava Woods also scored twice while Syd Capen, Avery Gauthier, Bree Hilyard and Brooklynn Hilyard added a goal apiece.
Sophia Richard made four saves in goal while Summer Dalbec-Joyal and Liv Mitchell also played well.
No. 2 Pinkerton 17, No. 4 Exeter 12
The Astros took a five-goal lead in the first quarter and held off the Blue Hawks the rest of the way.
Hannah Lisauskas had three goals and seven assists and Francesca Doyle had six goals to lead Pinkerton (9-1). Delaney Summers added four goals and an assist while Elise Collins and Sookie Folsom (one assist) had two goals apiece.
Sara DiClemente finished with saves in goal for the Astros.
Riley Benevides led Exeter (8-2) with four goals while Phoebe Christenson had three goals and an assist. Karli Scherpf had a goal and two assists and Hailey O’Kane also scored twice.
Claire Wilhelm added a goal and an assist and Racquel Battle had a goal. Molly Byrne made eight saves, including the 100th of her career.
No. 3 Bishop Guertin 16, Salem 3
Katie Wood scored twice for the Blue Devils and Nicole Ringdahl also had a goal in a loss to the Cardinals.
Olivia Schoenrock and Zeynep Yildirim each finished with saves.
No. 1 Portsmouth 16, No. 7 Nashua South 7
The Panthers fell to the Clippers on the road, despite getting three goals from Maren Lowell.
Saige Devins added two goals for South (6-3) while Wylie Hart had a goal and an assist and Addie Borden also scored. Lilee Petricca finished with six saves.
No. 5 Souhegan 17, Manchester Central-West 2
Izzy Stevenson had four goals and three assists to lead the Sabers to the win.
Libby Kennedy added five goals while Emmie Curran and Averie Curran each scored twice. Abby Giannetti and Meredith Heimarck had a goal and two assists apiece for Souhegan (4-2).
Lanai Hickman and Haley Christiansen added a goal apiece while Emma Crisman had one save and Nat Heimarck had an assist. Sophie Jacobs and Natalie Bryan also played well for Souhegan.
Timberlane 18, Spaulding 1
Aubrey Fitzgerald had four goals and an assist to lead the Owls to the win over the Red Raiders.
Ella Lampron (two assists), Ella Watts (one assist) and Julia Johnson added two goals apiece while Mackenzie Laschi had a goal and an assist for Timberlane (3-3).
Ava Paul, Lulu Trasatti, Ava Stewart, Ella Sarcione, Grace Gerhard, Nia Diamantakis and Anita Scibelli had a goal apiece in the win while goalie Kayla Apitz and Emma Norcott, Tatenda Chanakira, Sophie Doherty and Mackenzie Norcott played well defensively.
Spaulding got its lone goal from Payton Boumel while Arianna Hurley had an assist.
