Around the Granite State: Keene swim teams open the season

The boys and girls swimming teams from Keene, ConVal and Fall Mountain high schools opened their seasons Friday night in a meet at Colby Sawyer College.

Morgan Murray had a big night for the Keene boys, finishing first in the 200 freestyle in 2:10.75 and in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.72. Colin Hennigan also won the 100 freestyle in 54.1.

The Blackbirds also got first-place finishes from Conrad Smith and Andrew O’Donnell. Smith won the 50 freestyle in 23.29 and O’Donnell took the 100 fly in 59.7

Gillian Frink was the top finisher for the Keene girls, taking second in the 100 backstroke in 1:15.8

ConVal’s Bryanna Mattson also had a second-place finish, coming in as the runner-up in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:01.39.

Avery Richardson, from Fall Mountain, took third in the 100 breaststroke, with a time of 1:25.16.

Conant, Mascenic, Plymouth, Stevens and Kearsarge also participated in the meet.
