Around the Granite State: Laconia girls lacrosse grabs playoff win over Plymouth
Here are results from Tuesday’s high school playoff action.
Ava Currier and Maddie Mousseau each had five goals and an assist to help lead the Laconia High School girls lacrosse team to a 15-4 win Tuesday over Plymouth in the Division III preliminary round.
Currier also had six draw controls and five caused turnovers and Mousseau had four draw controls for the No. 7 Sachems (11-4). Lilly Milligan had two goals, two draw controls and two caused turnovers while Cali Andriski had two goals and an assist and Sam Wylie had a goal and an assist.
Molly Catudal had three assists in the win while Macy Swormstedt and Makayla Keegan played well defensively, combining for five caused turnovers, and Haley McCarty finished with seven saves.
Laconia will go on the road Thursday to face No. 2 Gilford in the quarterfinals.
No. 4 John Stark 22, No. 13 Trinity 9
Kaycie Rhodes scored seven goals and had an assist, including the 200th point of her high school career, as the Generals picked up a playoff win over the Pioneers.
Zoe Lawson had nine goals and two assists for John Stark (13-2) while Claudia Dustin had three goals and an assist and Addie DeCaw had two goals and two assists.
Ryan Mucci had a goal and an assist while Evette Dagenais and Jillian Fredette added an assist apiece. DeCew, Mucci and Lawson combined to dominate the draws while Rowin Ledy finished with nine saves.
John Stark will host No. 5 Bow on Thursday in the quarterfinals.
No. 9 Coe-Brown 17, No. 8 Lebanon 3
Avery Keefe had four goals and an assist and Ellie Escabi scored three times to help the Bears to a road win over the Raiders.
Brooke Kozlowski had three goals and two assists for Coe-Brown (9-6) while Carolyn Clawson, Morgan Readel, Rose Bean and Natalie George also scored in the win. Kozlowski and Lilly Peabody were also dominant on the draw.
Ady Moynihan led the defense with six caused turnovers and eight groundballs to go with a goal and an assist. Abby Readel and Kenzie Silva also had caused turnovers and Alexis Muse had a save percentage of 73.
Coe-Brown heads to Dover on Thursday to take on top-seeded St. Thomas in the quarterfinals.
No. 3 Hopkinton 22, No. 14 ConVal 1
Sydney Westover had five goals, three draw controls and two groundballs to help lead the Hawks to a playoff win over the Cougars.
Maeve Owens scored four goals and had an assist and Pippa Lang had three goals for Hopkinton (13-2). Molly Hodgdon added a goal and two assist and Veronica Nylund scored twice while Lauryn Vetter had a goal, an assist and four groundballs.
Lilly Chodosh and Rose Afflerbach each had a goal and an assist while Autumn Meier had a goal, five draw controls and four groundballs. Marcella Gaudagno also scored while Helen Yeaton had two draw controls, three caused turnovers and two groundballs. RJ Lang also played well and Grace Hodgdon had one save in goal.
Hopkinton will host No. 6 Derryfield in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
