Around the Granite State: Londonderry field hockey comes back to beat Winnacunnet (video)

LONDONDERRY – The Londonderry High School field hockey team got two goals in less than three minutes in the third quarter and held off Winnacunnet for a 2-1 win Monday.

Hannah Linscott scored what proved to be the game-winner with 7:13 left in the third, just 2:57 after Gemma Murray had tied the game for the Lancers (10-0, No. 2 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll).

Alison Chambers and Sadie Moore each had an assist while goalie Molly Tharrington and the Londonderry defense held the Warriors (7-2-1) scoreless for the final 56-plus minutes of the game.

Winnacunnet got its goal from Fiona McAfee just 3:12 into the contest and Amber Morgado finished with 12  saves.

No. 3 Keene 1, Bishop Guertin 0

NASHUA – Olive Thatcher scored 6:01 remaining in the game to give the Blackbirds the win over the Cardinals.

Natalia Gillis picked up an assist for Keene (8-1-1), as her shot on a penalty corner bounced off the pads of Bishop Guertin goalie Ayla Saeturn and went right to Thatcher on the far side of the goal.

Saeturn finished with seven saves for the Cardinals (6-4).

Hollis Brookline 1, No. 6 Oyster River 0

The Cavaliers went on the road and handed the Bobcats their first loss of the season.

Anna McGurk had the lone goal of the game for HB (7-2) and Maddie Barich finished with six saves to get the win.

No. 8 Dover 3, Portsmouth 0

Autumn Bernier, Giana Leonardi and Ella Deroy each had a goal for the Green Wave as they knocked off the Clippers.

Hannah Deory added an assist for Dover (7-4), which had 14 penalty corners and 27 shots on goal.

Windham 4, Nashua South 0

Jaidyn Seitzer scored twice to help the Jaguars pick up a road win over the Panthers.

Seitzer scored the lone goal of the first half while Ella Gallinelli and Kendall Salvador added goals in the second half to help Windham (4-6-1) to the win. Laikyn Reeners, Emme Mulrenan and Abbie Petrini also played well in the win.

South (2-9) got 12 saves from Meury Navarette while Wylie Hart, Keegan Dolan and Emme Christian played well.

St. Thomas 4, Sanborn 0

Talula Gregg and Riley Thomas each had a pair of goals to help lift the Saints past the Indians.

Leah Walsh added two assists for St. Thomas (7-0) and Emma Massicotte also recorded an assist. Bizzy Pelletier picked up the shutout in goal.

No. 4 Pinkerton 6, No. 9 Timberlane 1

Cara Murray scored four goals to lead the Astros to the win over the Owls.

Fran Doyle had a goal and an assist and Jordyn Schreiber also scored for Pinkerton (7-3). Gwen Lee and Jada Vasquez added two assists each and Ayvree Hamilton played well defensively.

Kasidee Castro scored for Timberlane (6-4) while Ava Paul and Lexi Dorow played well.

Hanover 6, Milford 0

Sophia Mancini scored twice, with twin sister Greta Mancini assisting on both, to help the Bears get the win over the Spartans.

Freshman Anna Farrell had a goal and an assist for Hanover (6-3) while Eliza Harris, Joia Collins and Anya Nyhan added a goal apiece.

Stevens 1, Monadnock (OT)

After allowing five goals in the first meet, the Huskies took the Cardinals to overtime before falling to Stevens.

Makayla Harwood recorded 13 saves for Monadnock (2-7) as Stevens had six penalty corners and 14 shots on goal. The Huskies had five corners and six shots on goal.

No. 7 Souhegan 3, Plymouth 0

The Sabers bounced back from their first loss with a road win over the Bobcats.

Eme Godin, Ella Normandin and Ella Duclos each had a goal for Souhegan (9-1) while Ella Russell and Ori Dart each had an assist. Amelia Warecki finished with five saves.

Girls Volleyball

Spaulding 3, Hollis Brookline 2

The Cavaliers rallied from two games down against the Red Raiders but fell in five. Game scores were 25-14, 27-25, 25-20, 25-15 and 15-8.

Nicole Kosakowski and Hailey Klaassens had 11 kills apiece for HB (3-6) and Max Harper added 21 assists. Hershey Vedula finished with 16 digs.

Portsmouth Christian 3, Franklin 0

The Eagles picked up a sweep of the Golden Tornadoes. Game scores were 25-9, 25-16 and 25-17.

Caroline Braman had three kills and one block for PCA (2-5) and Lexi Jordan had nine assists and three aces. Molly Marquis had seven aces and Mia Airey had six aces while Marion Spurr had four digs.
