Around the Granite State: Londonderry field hockey hands Keene a loss

Morgan Ayotte scored the game’s only goal as the Londonderry High School field hockey team beat Keene 1-0 on Friday.

Alison Chambers assisted on the goal for the Lancers (5-0, No. 8 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll), which came in the first quarter.

Molly Tharrington finished with eight saves in the win.

The loss was the first for the Blackbirds (4-1, No. 2) since the end of the 2023 season, snapping a 23-game unbeaten streak.

Windham 1, Salem 0

Kendall Salvador scored for the Jaguars, as they beat the Blue Devils for their first win of the season.

Jaidyn Seitzer had an assist on the goal and Dana McAleer had eight saves for Windham (1-5). Ella Gallinelli and Emme Mulrenan also played well.

No. 3 Dover 2, Merrimack 1 (OT)

Giana Leonardo scored in overtime to give the Green Wave a win over the Tomahawks and give coach Sarah Michaud her 100th career victory.

Meredith Toland scored in the first quarter to give Dover (5-1) the lead. Hannah Deroy added an assist and Scarlett Gray finished with 11 saves.

Ava Woods scored for Merrimack (1-4-1), tying the game in the second quarter. Jackie Hayes and Grace Massey played well and Annabelle Cassetty had seven saves.

Monadnock 6, Newport 0

Charleigh Bohannon scored two goals and had an assist to lead the Huskies to a road win over the Tigers.

Brooklyn Kidney also had a goal and an assist for Monadnock (2-2) while Bryanna Lacoste, Jillian Ellis and Hailey Fisk added a goal apiece.

Makayla Harwood finished with five saves in the win.

Hopkinton 2, Stevens 1

Autumn Meier and Carlie Leino each had a goal to lead the Hawks past the Cardinals.

Sadie Pelletier played well defensively for Hopkinton (3-0).

No. 7 Souhegan 4, Lebanon 0

Ella Russell scored twice to help the Sabers get past the Raiders.

Eme Godin added a goal and an assist for Souhegan (4-0) while Mariellah Dart also scored. Abby Mayo recorded an assist in the win.

Claire Kelly played well defensively for Lebanon (1-4).

Plymouth 3, Merrimack Valley 0

Amelia Avery had a pair of goals to help lead the Bobcats to a win over the Pride.

Trista Strickland also scored and Lucia Sakin picked up an assist for Plymouth (4-2). Carmen Donis played well in goal in the win.

Girls Volleyball

Portsmouth Christian 3, Newfound 1

The Eagles picked up their first win of the season by taking down the Bears in four sets. Game scores were 25-22, 25-22, 21-25 and 25-18.

Bea Monahan had seven kills, four aces and 18 digs for PCA (1-3) while Lauryn Flynn recorded 15 assists and five aces. Dylan Anderson and Caroline Braman had six kills apiece in the win.

Molly Marquis added four kills, eight aces and nine digs while Marion Spurr had 14 digs.
