Aaliyah Muzzey scored two goals Wednesday to help lead the No. 6 Mascoma Valley Regional High School field hockey team to a 3-0 win over No. 11 White Mountains in the Division III preliminary round.

Muzzey scored her first goal with 5:21 to go in the first quarter, off a pass from Makenna Houston, to give the Royals (11-4) the only goal they’d need, and added a second goal in the second quarter off a feed from Georgia Koni.

Bryanna Thurston also had a goal for Mascoma, with Ellie McGrody getting an assist. Kara Miller and Kylie Rogers played well in the midfield while Gabby Pierce led the defense, making seven saves.

The Royals move on to the quarterfinals, where they will go on the road to face No. 3 Stevens at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

No. 8 Conant 1, No. 9 Kearsarge 0

Sophie Spingola scored the game’s only goal as the Orioles advanced to the quarterfinals with a win over the Cougars.

Graecen Kirby had an assist on the goal for Conant (9-6) and goalie Abbie Quill came up big early in the game to keep Kearsarge (7-8) from scoring.

Quill also made a couple of clears late to keep the Cougars from tying it while Maddie Bergeron and Violet Bennett played well at midfield.

Conant moves on to face No.1 Gilford at 2 p.m. Saturday in the quarterfinals.

Girls Volleyball

Hollis Brookline 3, Londonderry 0

The Cavaliers picked up their seventh win in a row, beating the Lancers by scores of 25-23, 25-21 and 25-19.

Annette Schlunk had 11 kills and 10 digs and Malaya Colena had three aces and 11 digs. Anika DiVirgilio added 10 digs and Maia Schnieder had two aces and seven digs.

Portsmouth Christian 3, Franklin 0

Kailey Holt set a school record to help lead the Eagles past the Golden Tornadoes. Game scroes were 25-10, 25-16 and 25-19.

Holt had five kills, 14 assists, five digs and 13 aces, giving her the PCA record for aces in a season (106) and tied her for career aces (201).

Quinn Arico added nine kills and Heidi Geyer had four kills and four aces. Kate Wesley recorded three aces and two blocks and Emma Eisner had seven digs.
