Around the Granite State: Mascoma Valley field hockey takes win over Winnisquam

Makenna House had three goals and an assist to lead the Mascoma Valley Regional High School field hockey team to a 4-3 win Monday over Winnisquam.

Anna Buffington also had a goal for the Royals (3-5 in Division III) while Tori Petty and Ellie McGrody added an assist apiece. Sam Harkins made 15 saves for Mascoma while Jillian Ballou played well defensively.

Bonnie Burgoyne and Abby Harris also played well for the Royals, who return to action Tuesday at Hopkinton.

Mascenic 6, Monadnock 0

The Huskies fell to the Vikings in their homecoming game on Saturday. Makayla Harwood had 36 saves for Monadnock.

Derryfield 1, ConVal 0

Sophia Correnti scored on a penalty corner for the game’s only goal, giving the Cougars a win over the Cougars.

Caitlin Lande had an assist one goal for Derryfield (3-6 in D2) while Jess Avalon made two saves to get the shutout. Emma Branch, Katie Stonaker and Sarah Stonaker also played a great game in the win.

Lebanon 3, Kingswood 1

The Raiders picked up their second win in a row in their first home game after four straight on the road.

Summer Crowell and Mackenzie Ray each had a goal and an assist for Lebanon (3-6-2 in D2) while Hannah Barton also scored. Norah Burns had an assist and Meg Cheevers made six saves in goal.

Harper Rancourt and Savannah Therriault also played well in the midfield for the Raiders.

Bow 3, Pelham 0

Kaylee Jacques had a goal and an assist for the Falcons as they picked up their seventh in in a row.

Peyton Vaughn, Josie Johnson and Shire Kelley also scored for Bow (10-1 in D2).

Salem 2, Manchester Memorial-Central 1

Avery Aliberti had a pair of goals to lead the Blue Devils to the win.

Lexi Whipple had an assist on each goal for Salem (4-6 in D1).

No. 1 Keene 1, No. 5 Bishop Guertin 1 (OT)

The Blackbirds and Cardinals finished in a tie in a game between two of the top teams in D1.

Olive Thatcher deflected a shot by Sofia Miller on a penalty corner to give Keene (9-0-1) the lead in the second quarter. Sophie Bilodeau had the lone goal for Bishop Guertin (8-1-1) in the third to tie the game.

No. 6 Pinkerton 5, Timberlane 0

Jaelyn Crossman scored five goals to lead the Astros to a win over the Owls.

Cayden Madeiros had two assists while Hannah Lisauskas and Meaghan Shea each added one helper. Molly Kuncik finished with three saves and Shea also had a defensive save while Ayvree Hamilton also played well on defense.

Gwen Lee and Jada Vasquez had solid games on offense for Pinkerton (7-3 in D1).

Windham 3, Nashua South 0

Lily Micciche scored twice to help the Jaguars get the win over the Panthers.

Ella Gallinelli also had a goal and Sophie Manchester added three assists for Windham (3-6). Emme Mulrenan and Sedona Lee also played well in the win.

South (2-8) got 12 saves from Meury Navarette and nine saves from Isabelle Shiju. Karina O’Donnell, Molly Mullaney and Emme Christian played well for the Panthers.

No. 2 Dover 8, Portsmouth 0

Hannah Deroy had two goals and two assists and Erin Lynch added a goal and three assist to lead the Green Wave to the win.

Meredith Toland also scored twice and Giana Leonardi had a goal and an assist for Dover (9-1-1). Callie Toupin and Kaela Robins had a goal apiece and Leyden Churchill and Gaby Anderson each had an assist while Scarlett Gray made two saves.

No. 9 Winnacunnet 5, Londonderry 2

McKinley Fowler had three goals to lead the Warriors past the Lancers.

Sofia Donatelli and Maddy Garrant also had a goal apiece for Winnacunnet (6-3-1).

Girls Volleyball

Hollis Brookline 3, Spaulding 0

The Cavaliers picked up the win at home by scores of 25-16, 25-22 and 25-16.

Maggie Noble had seven kills to lead HB (6-2) while Kate Berrigan had three kills and three aces and Lolly Adair had two kills and two aces. Shelby Klaassens also recorded four aces.

Portsmouth Christian 3, Franklin 1

The Eagles were able to hold off the Golden Tornadoes by scores of 25-7, 25-17, 21-25 and 26-24.

Heidi Geyer had 10 kills and five aces for PCA (7-1) while Caroline Braman had five kills and two blocks. Lexi Jordan added eight assists, four aces and five digs and Quinn Arico had 15 assists.

Maycie Andress added four kills and three aces and Emma Eisner had 17 digs.
