Around the Granite State: Monadnock field hockey picks up win over Conant
Here are results from Thursday’s high school field hockey action.
Charleigh Bohannon scored twice to help lead the Monadnock Regional High School field hockey team to a 4-1 win Thursday night over Conant at Keene State College.
Brooklyn Kidney gave the Huskies (3-7) the lead early in the second quarter and Sophie Manlove finished off the scoring for Monadnock with a third-quarter goal.
Makayla Harwood finished with six saves while the Huskies had seven penalty corners and 17 shots on goal as they snapped a five-game losing skid with the win.
Mascoma Valley 1, Hopkinton 1 (OT)
The teams played for the second time in three days, this time on the Royals’ home field.
Just like the first meeting, the Hawks (8-1-1) got on the board first, as Autumn Meier scored for the 1-0 lead. Mascoma (6-2-1) answered moments later as freshman Sophia Smith scored off a feed from Makenna Houston.
Ellie McGrody and Aubrey Elizabeth played well in the midfield for the Royals while Anna Emerson and goalie Samantha Harkins led the defense.
