Around the Granite State: Monday’s Roundup
The Nashua High School South boys lacrosse team won its fourth game in a row Monday, beating Hollis Brookline 8-5.
Tyler Bernard led the way for the Panthers (5-6) with four goals and an assist while Devin Linscott recorded three goals and two assists. Joe Bodi added a goal and an assist and Tony Agor chipped in with an assist.
Nate Radin made eight saves in goal while Adam Kelliher played well defensively for South.
Milford 13, ConVal 12 (OT)
Owen Hutchinson found Cam O’Shaughnessy for the game-winning goal less than a minute into overtime to give the Spartans the win.
O’Shaughnessy finished with five goals and two assist while Gavin Urda added six goals and a helper. Hutchinson and Matt Hannon also had a goal and an assist apiece while Owen Clary and Corey Girouard both recorded an assist.
Tim Gagnon made 11 saves for Milford (4-3 in Division III) and Josh Shaw played well on defense and faceoffs.
Coe-Brown 9, Lebanon 8
The Bears improved to 4-2 in D3 as Ben Heyligger, Dakota West and Cole Hodgdon each had two goals.
Mitch Wade led the defense and Zach Sheehan made 10 saves.
Girls Lacrosse
Hollis Brookline 17, Goffstown 2
The Cavaliers cruised to a win over the Grizzlies, improving to 6-3 in Division II this season.
Tasha White had two goals and three assists for HB and also won 14 draw controls, while CeCe Fetter had three goals and an assist and Kelsey Sweeney also had three goals and five groundballs.
Victoria Bruzik added two goals and two assists while Paisley Broadhurst and Elise Bender each had two goals for the Cavs. Caroline Smith, Ari Friedman and Rachel Cerato added a goal apiece.
Olivia Valentine made three saves for HB and Josie Farwell, Abbey Magnuszewski, Brooke Allanach and Meghan Veino also played well.
Softball
Hollis Brookline 13, Bow 2
Delayni Kovalchek had three hits and five RBIs to lead the Cavs to a big win over the Falcons.
Gabby Paquin got the win for HB (3-4) by allowing two runs on six hits in six innings. Savanna Bent was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and Isabel Keefe and Cassidy Pigott were both 2 for 4.
Boys Volleyball
Hollis Brookline 3, Windham 1
Jonathan Brackett recorded 31 kills to lead the Cavs to a win over the Jaguars. Game scores were 25-18, 22-25, 25-13 and 25-21.
Matt Simco added eight kills and seven digs and Scott VanCoughnett recorded 46 assists. Patrick Close had eight blocks and Jack Sinclair added 15 digs for HB (5-4).
