Around the Granite State: Monday’s Roundup

The Goffstown High School boys lacrosse team broke open a tie game with four goals in the fourth quarter for a 9-5 win over Timberlane on Monday.

Nick Mason had four goals and an assist for the Grizzlies (8-3) and Eric Dubois had two goals. Max Lajeunesse and Devin Young also had a goal and an assist each while Griffin Cool added a goal. Finn Grant made eight saves.

Matt Licatta had two goals for the Owls (5-6), who dropped their fifth straight game.

Souhegan 11, Nashua North 8

The Titans came up short against the Sabers, dropping their seventh in a row.

Troy Bottari had five goals for North (2-9) and Todd Redman had two goals and three assists. Colin Manning also had a goal for the Titans while Ryan Palmer made 15 saves and Zac Maszczak won 16 faceoffs.

Monadnock 17, Milford 12

Gavin Urda had five goals but it wasn’t enough to keep the Spartans from dropping back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Owen Clary added two goals and four assists and Cam O’Shaughnessy had a goal and three assists. Owen Hutchinson recorded a goal and two helpers while Jakob Fantasia scored twice and Corey Girouard also had a goal.

Tim Gagnon made 15 saves for Milford (4-5).

Nashua South 11, Souhegan 9 (Saturday)

The Panthers got five goals from Tyler Bernard as they won for the fifth time in six games.

Devin Linscott added three goals and two assists and Drew Fleury had a goal and two helpers. Jaden Murphy also scored and had an assist while Joe Bodi had two assists and Derek Downing and Jordan Bodwell had one apiece.

Nate Radin made eight of his 17 saves in the fourth quarter while Josh Martin, Jarrett Bieren, Adam Kelliher and Kyle O’Connor played well defensively.

Coe-Brown 8, Pembroke 7 (Saturday)

The Bears scored five goals in the fourth quarter to rally for a win over the Spartans.

Jacob Radwan had five goals to lead Coe-Brown while Ben Watson, Dakota West and Cole Hodgdon also scored. Zach Sheehan made 16 saves and Mitchell Wade played well defensively.

Girls Lacrosse

Hollis Brookline 14, Timberlane 3

Paisley Broadhurst had four goals and an assist to lead the Cavaliers to the win.

CeCe Fetter added two goals, leaving her four shy of a hundred, and Kelsey Sweeney had a goal and four assists for HB (9-3). Abbey Magnuszewski also had two goals and an assist and Tasha White and Victoria Bruzik each scored twice.

Elise Bender also had a goal and Reagan Berry had an assist while Olivia Valentine and Caroline Smith led the defense.

Softball

Bedford 6, Merrimack 3

Erica Barley did a little bit of everything to help lead the Bulldogs to their sixth win of the season.

Barley went 3 for 3 with a two-run triple and also picked up the save for Bedford (6-7) while Maddie Fraitzl had an RBI and picked up the win.

Lindsey Hiu drove in three runs for Merrimack and Mandi Dilibac pitched well in the loss.

Boys Volleyball

Hollis Brookline 3, Souhegan 0

The Cavaliers picked up their fourth win in a row by sweeping the Sabers. Game scores were 25-16, 25-20 and 25-16.

Jonathan Brackett led the way for HB (8-4) with 17 kills while Sander Wimmer added eight kills and Scott VanCoughnett recorded 33 assists and five aces.

Mike Moscatelli had 11 digs while Patrick Close and Marshall Coutu had three blocks apiece.
