Around the Granite State: Monday’s Roundup
The Hollis Brookline High School girls lacrosse team opened its season with a 17-4 win over Alvirne in Division II action on Monday.
Kelsey Sweeney led the way for the Cavaliers with four goals, while CeCe Fetter added three goals and Paisley Broadhurst and Abbey Magnuszewski each had two.
Reagan Berry, Rachel Cerato, Dana Ulrich, Tasha White, Brooke Allanach and Sydney Reichard added a goal apiece and HB won 14 of 21 draws. Olivia Valentine and Zoe Tayler combined for six saves while Caroline Smith, Sydney Speir and Victoria Bruzik led the defense.
Boys Lacrosse
Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough 19, Stevens 5
The Cardinals fell in their season opener against the Lakers. Sophomore Quentin Bicknell led the way for Stevens with three goals and Donovan Putnam added two scores.
Keaghan McAllister and Ian Fitzpatrick each had an assist and Tucker Derosier made 10 saves.
Souhegan 12, Manchester Central 4
Ethan Hopey led the way with four goals as the Sabers opened their season with a win over the Little Green.
Riley Lawhorn added three goals and two assists for Souhegan and Nick Jordan also had two goals. Joe Civiello was 15 for 16 on faceoffs and John Lohnes made eight saves.
