Around the Granite State: Nashua South boys basketball rolls past Dover

NASHUA – The Nashua High School South boys basketball team jumped out a big first-quarter lead and rolled to a 72-39 win Friday night against Dover.

The Panthers (11-4) led 20-3 after one quarter, as four players scored in double figures, led by Josh Caruso and Daniel Karavanic with 14 points each, who hit two 3-pointers apiece.

Josh Tripp added 13 points and Linc Vanderhorst chipped in with 11 points for South.

Dover (6-9) got 10 points from Owen Corringham while Cal Dearborn and Peter Leggett each had eight points.

Campbell 60, Monadnock 22

The Cougars wrapped up their regular season with a win over the Huskies.

Logan Rice led Campbell with 16 points and 10 rebounds while Cayden DeLeon had 13 points and 11 assists. Luke Delia added 12 points and five steals and Jack Breton recorded 11 points and nine rebounds.

Merrimack Valley 65, Manchester West 62 (OT)

Down 15 points in the third quarter, the Pride came back to force overtime and get a much-needed win.

Aiden Gray had 20 points to lead Merrimack Valley, which snapped a four-game losing streak with the win. Nic Oglesby had a double double with 17 points and 10 rebounds and Thatcher Stearn added 10 points.

West got 23 points from Brayden Mariano.

Windham 70, Portsmouth 66 (OT)

Jack Koutrobis scored 20 points to help lead the Jaguars to an overtime win against the Clippers.

Sam Roidoulis added 18 points and 10 rebounds and Brandon Jacobs scored 16 points and also grabbed 10 boards for Windham.

Belmont 52, Conant 34

Treshawn Ray led the Red Raiders with 19 points in their finale against the Orioles.

Anakin Underhill added 12 points and Keegan Martinez chipped in with 11 points. Brody Ennis recorded eight markers in the win.

Girls Basketball

Oyster River 58, Coe-Brown 46

Vivian O’Quinn scored 30 points to lead the Bobcats to a win over the Bears.

Olivia Andersen added 14 points for Oyster River while Wren Horne and Ashling Ferris each had five markers.

Souhegan 49, Kennett 13

The Sabers led 20-0 at the end of the first quarter to cruise to their second straight win.

Zofia Rosenfield had 14 points and 15 rebounds to lead Souhegan while Caroline Drum scored nine points and grabbed 11 boards. Tess Jancar recorded seven points in the win.

Winnacunnet 43, Goffstown 33

The Warrior won for the fifth time in the last seven games, knocking off the Grizzlies.

Kaila Roy hit three 3-pointers and was 4 of 6 at the free throw line to finish with 17 points, while Nora Simmons finished with eight points.

Meredith Winterburn had 18 points, including two 3s, for Goffstown and Reece Still added eight points.

Exeter 71, Manchester Memorial 42

The Blue Hawks were led by their seniors on a senior-night win over the Crusaders.

Karli Scherpf and Hannah Outhouse both scored in double figures, with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Elizabeth Moriarty added six points and Ava Young had two points for Exeter.

Keene 74, Manchester Central-West 56

Harper Zalaski scored 32 points to help lead the Blackbirds to a win over Central-West.

Zalaski also had 13 rebounds and three blocks for Keene while McKenna Nelson had 18 points, 13 boards and four steals. Logan Lord was also in double figures with 10 points.

Salem 74, Nashua North 34

Lilly George scored 28 points to help the Blue Devils to a big win over the Titans.

George had six of the team’s 12 3-pointers while Lindsay Goetz (16 points) and Makayla Burns (10 points) had two 3s apiece.

North got 14 points from Lilly Small while Angela King (three 3s) and Madelyn Tino each had nine points.
