Portsmouth’s Swartz, Londonderry’s Sullivan named top basketball players by NHBCO

The high school basketball season wrapped up in New Hampshire last weekend, but there was still one prize left to claim.

Portsmouth sophomore Derek Swartz and Londonderry senior Samantha Sullivan were named Monday as the 2026 winners of Mr. & Miss New Hampshire Basketball. The awards, which recognize the top boys and girls player in the state, are chosen by the New Hampshire Basketball Coaches Organization.

Swartz helped lead the Clippers to an 18-2 record and a spot in the Division I semifinals for the second year in a row. He was also named the D1 Player of the Year by the NHBCO.

Sullivan, who will play at Bryant University next year, led Londonderry to a 19-3 record and its first Division I championship since 2015. The Lancers knocked off top-seeded Concord Christian in the final on Saturday. Sullivan was also chosen by the NHBCO as the D1 Player of the Year.
